    Shame to let it slip......

Don't let it slip. I am not as far through this as you yet but the way I am sticking to it is not to let any bits that I have done slip. I need to visit the flylady site for more tips but I am still wiping the sinks/cleaning the toilets and keeping the rooms I have done clutter free. Still way to go but only forward not back.

I have noticed that by keeping on top of it I have so much more time. I have made jam for the first time ever; doing a little exercise everyday and just feel calmer now that I feel I am back in control of the house.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for all your postings it has helped me no end, now where are my stardrops!:D

  • cheers for that moggins - takes a little bit of the pressure off, as i know the decorating will definitely be finished by then. Also i should be back in a routine of getting up/getting on with my routines.

    last night:
i washed the spare room bedding, and cleaned the bathroom suite. DH did a freezer dive tea, washed up and put BM on. (edit - ooops - pregnancy brain made me forget i had already reported this - sorry)

    todays tasks
    • stripped bed, washed sheets, sorted out a load of washing, made spare bed, tidied kitchen, been to shops. All done by 11:15am.
    • i still want to wash one more load, cook two meals and tidy the kitchen afterwards, do my annual performance management review ready fior goiung back to school on Monday, mark my year ten coursework (about 50 pieces to do).
    • I would also like to do some ironing and run a hoover round this evening, but i am writing pure fantasy there. Think that will have to be saved for through the week.

I'll now be really sad and write the 12th in my diary. Thanks for that moggins. I know you will have me organised and ready for this baby.

    Michelle, xx
  • Hi, all!

Recycling bin - to put out
Arrange for people to come and do odd jobs, sweep chimney and service range - done. Now I need them to come and do the jobs
Paperwork to file - today's pile done
Borrowed items to return to friends - books to do
Marrow and ginger jam - to be labelled and put into the pantry
Stairs to hoover - Flybabay job! :j
Sofa diving - to do (Flybabies want to do this :T )

I bought some vacuum storage bags from Argos. I'm going to Lakeland on Thursday to eye up theirs, and see if they're worth the extra.

Went to Staples and bought some lovely BOGOF files, so paperwork will be more sorted.

Moggins, I'm on for the 12th, too!

My flip over card system is working fine, I have a 'wild card' when I get to choose what needs tackling, the hall cupboard hasn't looked so neat in ages! And once I have started to reallly get back on top of things it will be so much easier.
How do others of you encourage OH's not to have piles, not the bottom sort, you know, piles, of 'stuff';) They are multiplying

Sarah I haven't worked that one out either, DH's piles of DVD's, CD's, music, musical instruments are currently defeating me. I'm thinking of buying the house next door to move him into :D

    Hi Moggins et al.

Still doing well keeping on top of what I have done. Pace of sorting out the rest has slowed a bit. DS2 and DS3 back at school - first day for DS3. DS1 not back until Thursday. What is the Challenge 3? Do I need to sign up to flylady/visit the website for more info - keep meaning to do that, maybe later.

Stardrops was a star for me yesterday. Lovely children were throwing my cusions in the living room (don't ask why) and one landed in the very dirty firepace - Note need to book the sweep - and was covered in soot. Read care label which said do not wash. Sponged with stardrops and the lot has come off, I was amazed - did not work on DS3 pasta sauce on white top though.

Dusty you don't have to sign up with Flylady (although some have), I will be posting the challenge in a thread here on 12th September, we just put down which room we will be doing that day and when we've done it (or are taking our 15 minute break) then we post back what we have done.

It gives a bit more incentive when you actually write down what you have accomplished.
