Thanks
Hi Bella
Here is an example of the secondhand book 'merry go round' on Ebay.
These 3 lots of books look really interesting 170033555440, 170033554797 and 170033553540 each 400+ New and Secondhand books.
Until you check out the sellers recent purchases 120011598725 (1000 books), 300005782514 (750 books), 130008289278 (1200 books), 200002462197 (1500 books).
There's nothing wrong in what they are doing but I wouldn't want to purchase these books for resale on Amazon because my guess would be that they have already checked them out.
That's all I'm suggesting you should try and watch out for.
I'm now off to 'trudge the mud' at a local boot fair - happy hunting.

I've just had another email from an irate buyer about another missing cd.
looks like everything I sent on the 14th, 15th and 16th has gone missing. Waiting for 3 more buyers to contact me.
Think I might have to forget selling my games and cds as I can't get to a post office during the day and can't afford to send them without a COP.
I'm feeling very depressed at the moment. Damn RM.
I'd be depressed too!
Phone Royal mail complaints they are in Glasgow somewhere and make an official complaint, make sure they take the details down, and make sure you follow it up with a letter. Point out that you used online postage and can show them your records of that.
Insist they investigate.
Two Christmasses ago I lost lots of items, even recorded delivery ones just disappeared and ended up having many a very long conversation with a great Scottish guy at uneartly times in the morning (they used to start a 6.30am in complaints). I finally go all my money back, plus a letter of apology and a further amount of compensation as they admitted they were aware of an incidence in one of their main sorting offices. During our 'off the record' discussions they was some suggestion that once someone had one of my packages they watched for more going through as they knew roughly what they contained.
Don't let them get away with this.

Wonder what you think I should price this book as. I bought it this morning - its one of those business negotiations books.
It's original price was £9.99 but there is no other listing on Amazon. I don't want to be greedy and do the £68.00 thing, so what would you suggest a fair price would be?
It is like new.
Thanks guys and gals.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I'm so paranoid about scams that I thought I owuld check this one with you all. Just got an email from Amazon that says:
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk.
A potential buyer has sent you the following message about an item you have for sale on Amazon.co.uk, or about your store at Amazon.co.uk. Please respond to the individual directly by replying to this e-mail. For your reference, the buyer's e-mail address is xxx
Important Notice: The following order payment methods are not covered for reimbursement by the Amazon.co.uk A-to-z Guarantee: wire transfer, money orders, check, cash, or credit card transactions that occur off Amazon.co.uk. Only orders using Amazon Payments are supported. This is the payment system used when you use 1-Click or the Shopping Cart to place orders through the Amazon.co.uk Web site.

Please confirm how much postage will be on this item.
Thanks,
It doesn't say what book or anything else.

Can't believe that one!
Never mind - I'm sure there'll be a big sale just around the corner!
I've had a better weekend Amazon-wise. Sold an old cassette to an American buyer. (I have no idea how much that will cost. Just hope I don't make a loss!)
Also sold a book that I've just read for over £4. :j0 -

Hi Soo
I have had enquiries come through that don't have the item detailed, although other enquiries do - so, there seems to be at least 2 ways to send an enquiry to a seller. If you are at all concerned you could either ignore the enquiry or use a 'throw away' email address when you respond.
It could easily be a genuine question, it is not clear to newbie Amazon buyers that the P&P is standard depending on what item they want to buy. You could send them the link to the appropriate postage rates on the Amazon site.

FFM, I'd had a good think about it and in the end did what you suggested. I sent a link to the standard p and p pages on Amazon, thanked them for their enquiry and mentioned that if they bought a book today it would be in the post first thing tomorrow morning!
Fingers crossed!

Hiya.
Unfortunately a post has just been removed regarding selling some books/items via this site.Just a gentle reminder about this site's rules on selling/swapping etc.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0
