What a bargain Matt! I bought some a few months ago but paid a lot more than that.
Got 100 and they've gone on all RISI and Amazon parcels and still got loads left.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -

DVS and video's again is it just the barcode?
Toys and games.I have 2 jigsaw puzzles, EAN not recognised and I can't find by searching key words. Does that mean I cannot list on Amazon? If not I'll save them for ebay nearer Christmas as they are new and unopend and would make great gifts.
TIA
I usually put the barcode in.
Sometimes there's an extra number to add on the beginning or end.
Or sometimes you take the digit away.

Jazzy_B wrote:I wonder if any of the more experienced sellers could advise me on two things.
The first thing is the packing slip.
Do you just print it out and send it, or do you include a word processor document, thanking them for their purchase, and pasting the packing slip onto it?
The second thing is feedback. I've sold about 40 things now, and have a feedback of 3. Do you mention leaving feedback in either the email confirming dispatch, or on the packing slip.
I've had glowing emails from purchasers thanking me, but no feedback left. I don't mention feedback at all , but wonder if I should, because I don't like being asked, and I always left feedback for sellers.
I send a packing slip thanking them, and letting them know I will refund if they are not happy with the condition of the book, but should I be including anything else?
Thanks in advance.
I print the packing slip off, cut the address off the top with a paper trimmer, I then stick this to the jiffy bag (Which incidentally are available in poundland for £1 for 8)
I print an Invoice with the details of the purchase and a little note on the bottom asking for them to leave feedback.
This all goes in the envelope along with a "With Compliments" Slip.Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

jo_b wrote:Hi Kev,
Welcome to the (in)famous Amazon thread!
The main benefit with Amazon is that you don't have any worries about payment or non-payment as the buyer pays Amazon directly and Amazon then pay that money straight into your bank account.
As regards fees, Amazon fees are generally higher but books tend to sell at higher prices, so it evens itself out. There is also the benefit that there are no listing fees. You can have a book listed for as long as you want and if it doesn't sell, then you won't have lost anything trying.
I'd have a look on Amazon and see what prices your books are being offered at and, if it's worth it, give it a shot.
I've sold 3 dvd's over the last 2 days. Needless to say I'm well pleased and with so little effort to.
Now to list those theatre books...0 -
Black Pudding - can you please not mention the £1 for 8 jiffies from Poundland.
It causes me to experience intense feelings of jealousy and resentment!!!We don't have a poundland, and my cheapo shop charges £1 for 4 and sometimes they are £1.25! IT'S NOT FAIR (Stamps feet).Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I only ordered them a couple of hours ago but they sound great. Save me writing on the back, and probably cheaper than printing myself. A lot smaller than the labels I use on the front. So I shouldn't get any back by mistake.
Hope this helps some of us Amazonians & Ebayers.

That's really useful, thanks Matt. Was just thinking I need to go out and get some, and now I don't need to!!
Edited because I forgot to ask my latest question... I know this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" type question but what size envelopes does everyone use, please? Reluctant to get just large ones, as feel they would be wasted on smaller books, so thinking I will have to get two different sizes. Is that what most people do? I am going to order some from Viking soon....AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
The envelopes I use mainly are JL1 170mm x 245mm.
These are the ones that are 8 for £1 in poundland.
Hope this helps.

Oh no you mentioned the poundland bags...now larmy is going to get cross again :rotfl:
Actually I like the size of the 99p shop ones. they are size D so are fine for most paperbacks even thick ones, and even some smaller hardbacks as wll as DVDs. They used to sell 12 for 99p but they have now reduced the pack size to 10 for 99p.

Hi,
If you put your own name and address label vertically (instead of horizontally as on the front) on the back of the envelope then you shouldn't have any returned to you instead of being delivered to the recipient by the Royal Mail.
Returns only usually occur when a letter/packet ends up in the sorting machine facing the wrong way and the machine then reads your postcode instead of the addressees. Putting your own label vertically prevents this from happenning.
Having said this - I haven't a great deal of Amazon experience yet (only about 10 books so far) - but it works for all the letters I send for business and I don't get letters returned to me in error anymore, only when RM are unable to deliver ie incorrect address. Hope that may be useful.
Carrot.

i cant seem to sign up for amazon seller account.
i'v tried many times on many occasions, and keep getting this error,
'Amazon Payments Error
Amazon Payments has ended this attempt to register or list. Attempts to register for Amazon Payments or list items for sale will not be able to continue. Unfortunately, because you are not able to receive payment through Amazon Payments you will not be able to list items for sale at Amazon.com.
