Well done Tweek, that was quick off the mark!
I'm just off to my village doctor's surgery, they have a rack of donated books for sale and they only want 10p or whatever donation you feel like putting in the tin, they often have some good ones and in fact all the books I have listed at the moment for £3 + came from there.Swagbucks earnings since 22/05/2012 £135 paypal cash
Clicksense earnings since 16/10/2012 $100.56 paypal cash0 -
I have 600 books listed and am currently selling about 14 books per week which I am very happy with. When I had 300 books a few months back I sold about 7 a week, I wonder if I have 900 books I will sell 21 a week?! AT do you sell 21 a week?
I don't think that all bootsales stop, keep an eye in your local paper, coz ours says which ones are on each week, and our main one runs right through the winter - yippee, coz I hate it when I don't buy stock one week.
I find the charity shops vary, there are only 3 out of the 7 near me that I can purchase books at for 50p, the rest are extremely highly priced.
Bella - I hope you get back into the spirit soon, maybe if you remove yourself from the books completely for a few days and do something else you might find your craving again. I too have a scanner, and it is fab, I use it to list on GM too!

That's not a bad guess, I just searched the last 30 days and it was 93 sold so thats around 24 per week, 3 ish per day0 -
Just a question. I've listed lots of penny books that other sellers have listed also at 1p. But for alot of books, I've listed them at 1.49, hoping some people may not trust the 1p pricetag.
When many of the book you are about to list are for sale at 1p, is it best to also sell at 1p or sell for a higher price?0 -

Personally if there is more than say 8 copies of a book listed at 1p I tend not to keep it and will discard it. If all those listed copies are acceptable and mine is near mint then i might risk a £1 price, but otherwise I tend not to bother.

I had a pending email from Amazon early yesterday morning and thought I would email the potential buyer as I've read about other posters doing this. Can't find their email address anywhere tho
I've looked in my 'view your recent market place orders' but its not there although one from ages ago is so thats where I expected to find it. Maybe Amazon are just taking a long time to list it there or are they not providing those details anymore? Anyone know?
Could do with the sale, it was for £9.50 so not bad. Am going to the next town along on Sat as there are loads of charity shoppes there and only 2 in the town I'm in. Thought I'd see what they've got and how much they are, might be expensive as its a posher gaff than where I live
Just handed in my notice today at one of my several jobs so am hoping to increase stock now I'll have a bit more free time.0 -
I had my first buyer from abroad at the weekend. Was really scared it would cost a fortune so post it (was going to Holland), as it was a very heavy, bulky book, but it actually worked out not much more expensive than posting within the UK.
A nice healthy £14 profit0 -

Hi Kat and all
I thought I would post my progress for you all to see how much of an affect your advice can make.
This last month I have sold 172 books/cd's/DVD's which averages at 44 per week. I now have approx 1400 listed and more in the garage to list. I find most of mine at either car boots or ebay and the odd one from a charity shop. This has changed my life; I am slowly but surely paying off my debts. I also now have an ebay shop which I have sold over £150.00 worth of stuff on in the last couple of weeks. I love this site and what it's doing for me and can't thank all of you enough for your help and support - long may it continue. For anyone out there just starting - GO FOR IT - it's hard work but worth the effort (except for the odd few refunds and 2/5 for no reason!!)
Have a good weekend

Annie, that's a really good update - can you remind us (for newcomers too) when you started?0
