Most of my items have "low price" by them. Is there any way of seeing the next price offered by someone else, or is it a manual click on each item?
  • ruby, well done on making a start, the hardest part is done now. I'd go ahead and list whatever you need to sell, don't worry about getting in a muddle, just keep them all together in a box and then they are easy to find when you sell.

comickmankev, I can't believe your PO staff, what a farce!!!! I'm afraid that you have to click on each book to do your checking and editing - even if you are the lowest priced you are only the lowest in your condition category so you have to have a look around to see the full picture.
  • Thanks Apprentice Tycoon, I really appreciate all the advice here.

It was so simple and straightforward to list the books there, I sell on Ebay and I often get so stressed out doing it I'm sure it's not good for me, so this is a welcome change!

  • Hmm...trying to list an item and I'm getting this:
The item for which you have attempted to create a listing is a restricted item in our Electronics & Photo store. Listing against restricted items in this store is limited to pre-approved sellers only.

Any idea how I get on to the pre-approved sellers list?

    Thanks.

  • Mmmmm, not sure about this but I think that Hintza will be the person to ask, can you PM him? I'm sure he won't mind :D
  • Hmmmm think I need to have a whinge... see if the old magic is still working... after a very good August for me (best month ever, I think, but still not enough to be pro-merchant), now a very quiet September. Have loads of books to list/look at listing, can't motivate myself... even with my super new scanner. Trying to organise all books I have previously listed, getting there slowly, but a successful whinge may just lift my spirits a little and get me scanning...

  • I've now become a seller too and have listed about 100 books. Sold one already!

How many books has everybodu else got listed?
  • Well I have taken the plunge and signed up to Pro Merchant!

Will someone now please turn all my sales back on as they have dried up completely in the last week since I signed up!!

Oh hum - I'm off to trawl the charity shops and try to increase my stock - by the way has any one else found that the charity shops are hiking their prices up something terrible, it's getting quite hard to make a decent profit!

  • Some of the charity shops charge so much for books that you can often find them cheaper brand new if you shop around! They vary hugely though. There are are still 3 charity shops near me with a good range of books at 50p or less.
  • Tweek, well done on getting your foot on the first rung - hold tight! I have around 900 items listed at the moment

numberthree, I agree, charity shops can be pricey but on the other hand you find some shops with a different policy with books, one near me sells 3 for £1 so you just have to keep your eyes peeled. Boot sales are often the best places to look but they will be finishing soon, at least the school Christmas fair season is around the corner, they can be pretty good hunting grounds
