Hi, Firstly i want to appologise to any Amazon sellers here if i have undercut them. wouldn't like to have done that to any of you guys, but don't know who you are, is there any way of identifying any of you so that i would know in the future? Now then my problem is... I have sold a book and a cd recently on Amazon. The Cd I listed as Good: There are a couple of marks on Cd but still plays well... I always test CDs and Video's just to make sure.Sale price £1.80.
The feedback i got was 3/5. The product arrived quickly. There is no denying that but the CD is scratched including the Case. The buyer did not e-mail me to let me know that there was a problem. I have e-mailed her 3 times saying that if she was not happy i would give her a refund, but i still haven't had a reply. of course she may be on holiday. what should i do?
The second sale was a book. It was Listed as Acceptable. the comments were: Worn cover with tear at top and bottom of spine. Otherwise OK still useable. Sale price £2.60..
The feedback i got was 3/5 Book was not in a good a condition compared to the others & did take time to arrive BUT the sellar did explain why.
This buyer did not e-mail me to let me know that he was not happy. The next book of that title was listed as used from £ 8.36. Used Good. The book that he bought from me had clean useable pages. So why didn't he buy one of those instead of mine. He has not contacted me and i have as yet not e-mailed him to reply should i ask him if he wants a refund? I am only a seller trying to help get my son out of debt after Uni. Any help from you Guys would be appreciated. sorry for prattling on.

    Hi all,

Being doing really well with amazon since I started following your advice in May, have made over £200 profit since then, thanks very much, its all going in the hoilday spending money fund so I won't come back from holiday with a large CC bill.

I am resisting the urge to buy things to sell as the object of the exercise is to get rid of my junk, but its very hard at times as especially now things have slowed down a bit.

This means I'm regularly checking my listing and adjusting wording, pricing etc. (as advised by AT) One of the things that is really annoying is multiple listings from the same seller. I thought I'd read on here that this was not allowed and should be reported to Amazon. Exactly how do you do that? Can't seem to find the answer on here.

Can you kindly point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks, Clare
  • Good question Clare, I've never actually done this but I will next time I see duplicates, I wonder if it's just the normal customer services email or phone number? if someone can clarify this I'll put it into the first post.

Hi All, I'm new to this board and have just been checking out best ways to sell some of my stuff. After reading the introduction to selling on Amazon at the beginning of this thread, I decided to list some of my CDs last night. I only listed some of the more rare ones, as I thought I'd be outpriced by the more common CDs such as Madonna & Dido (listed for 1p!!).
I checked my email this morning and I've sold 2!! so I just wanted to pop on to say thanks for all the advice!

I've got a few Mills & Boon books to sell as well, but when I checked against the ISBN to see how many were already listed, there are already about 10-15 of each title listed, and from prices such as 1p. Is it worth me listing mine as well? bearing in mind I've not got a lot to sell and am a new seller.

    Advice is very much welcome!

    thanks.. Hels
  • Another book sold yesterday, £3.51 when fees & postage have come off so I'm happy.

    Hi demented.
I've merged your post into the main Amazon thread, as you are more likely to get a quicker response on here. :o

Personally, I think you've been very unlucky to get two customers who didn't read your description carefully. Like you, I would email the customers and offer to refund their purchases if they return the items.

I'm not sure I'd bother with that customer again... he's left feedback. If he wanted a solution he should have made contact first. PLUS he failed to read the accurate description.

What possible good would it do to refund now... and does he deserve a refund?
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
