I have read some of the ebayers saying it was a relief to lose the 100%. finally the big bogeyman of feedback had done his bit and from then on they felt more relaxed about selling. I have a neutral which lost me my 100%, and that was a complaint about delivery being slow, despite me sending the same day!

We have to try and lose our perfectionist natures!:D

PS I have loads of 4/5 where they were really happy with the service!

I have not sold anything for a week!
But I have just under 200 books listed and could do with getting proper storage and getting more books when I have time.

It's been a week since i sold anything on Amazon as well. I have 311 books listed (I just checked) and am going to have to turn on my holiday settings soon, I just keep holding out for one more sale before I turn them off ....

Hi guys - just bookmarking this new thread.

I have had quite a good week - sales of £50 (9 items) - hope it continues.

Off to a summer fete now to see if I can get a hold of any other books and then a car boot sale in the morning

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Same here - I forgot to set up the email notification - it's nice to know when there's something new to read.

Just had a great morning at a boot fair. Loads of brand new books 50p each - nice fella - did me a bulk buy at 3 for £1 - I'm hoping he'll be there next week.

    Happy rummaging everyone :)

    Hi All

Sorry if this has been asked before but with all the pages to go through I've got a little lost.

I am a long time ebay user and regularly used it to get rid of stuff I've collected over the years. I now have some out of print theatre related books I want to sell and was wondering if switching to Amazon would be better. Like most i'm getting a little fed up with Ebay and iffy buyers.

Inparticular from a sale do you stand to make more via Amazon or Ebay (once all the fees have been paid and the buyer has paid by Paypal)

If anyone could help sum it up in a nutshell I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Kev

Hi, I asked this on the last thread but didnt get a response :(

What do you do about smelly books? Is there any way to get rid of it or do you include it in the item description ?

    cheers

    mishka

    ps kev,

only been doing this a mini while but i find ebay to be better profit, when you get it, but amazon far easier to list and there is no worry about not receiving the payment, its all done before you are told of the sale. I am only doing this as a hobby and the less stress factor is most important to me, equally the fact of not paying out if nothing sells.

Depends what they smell of! Give us a clue :)

I bought some books on ebay... aside from being badly packaged so they had bashed around together in the box, they smelt as if they had been left in someone's toilet for reading... on the floor, right by the pedestal, possibly catching a few sprinkles too! :lipsrseal:

I left them in their open box. Took a look recently and they don't seem so bad now. I think I'll give the covers a good wipe over with something and see how things look.
