Just a question about becoming a Pro Merchant seller - Does the 86p selling fee stop being deducted straight away and does it apply to all current listings ... or is it only applicable to listings created after your pro merchant subscription starts.

The 86p will start coming off shortly after upgrading your account

A big THANK YOU for everyones help with this. After a few harsh emails to Amazon I have sorted the problem.

My storefront is complete now. Shows all my listings and ive even put custom links to search for catagroies.

The 86p has now started coming off.#

Zshops are only for items no in the catalogue. Any items listed at marketplace will also go jointly as zsop items, BUT only items listed after converting. The 200 I have listed already havnt.

So all in all im sorted and hopefully made myself more attractive to buyers. I even have a picture logo and things.

thanks once again. If anyone needs some tips post them :)

  • Just a little example for holiday settings - I'm a cautious person and when I needed to take some time off recently I made sure that I allowed the full 36 hours between activating the settings and being away, the thing is they were withdrawn within the hour and when I started them up again they were back in 4 hours, so a braver, more foolhardy soul might have left it later to cancel?.......

Does anyone know how long it takes from listing a book with a buyer waiting to having the sale confirmed?
Thanks for all the help and advice on here.

  • If your book matches what the buyer has requested exactly then I'd expect to get the email in a few hours

Bella13: Hope you have a fantastic time! Oh and positive thoughts on their way!!!

Thank you Bella, we are very excited coz never been on a cruise before! Thank you for your positive thoughts too - it must have worked because I have sold 5 items since then and am now back to 34 items a month - phew!
kat - chin up, I'm sure it will pick up again.

Thanks apprentice - it has picked up!

Thank you oh magical board for your awesome powers! :T
I'm just patiently waiting for my first sale full stop

Louise - Good luck and hang on in there for your first sale, I am sure it will not be long, bare in mind that it tends to be slower over the summer, alot of big big sellers are complaining about fewer sales on the amazon forum in the seller connection. Maybe you should have a moan on the board like we do - it worked for me!

righto - its been a bit quiet in seabiscuitland

    but i have a question

those of you who have high priced books, that probably arent worth or going to sell at that price, when do you start to reduce the price and by how much

we are talking a £100 priced book here (the only other copy is £125), and its been on nearly a month, but going throu book finder, i can find copies in usa between £30 and £125

I suppose it depends on how quickly you want the cash, I don't have any books with a price as high as that soI don't have any direct experience, I will say that I had a book for sale for 4 years before it sold if that's any help?

Hi Seabiscuit, been EXTREMELY quiet in Teapot Town unfortunately....... I don't have any books as highly priced as £100 but as AT says it depends on how quickly you want the cash as to how low you go. Also I would imagine it depends on what sort of book it is - if its an academic one it might go in Septemebr rather than now. And I assume lots of people are on hols so if you are prepared to wait till after August more folk might see the listing???

    Good luck with it

I had a good week last week, but my sales have dried up this week - I guess it is just too hot to be thinking about books!

Thinking ahead, I am going to close my sales for the two weeks leading up to Christmas, I remember it being a nightmare last year, trying to post stuff in my lunch hour and queueing for ages. Sorry to mention the C word.
