  • Yvonne, was it a Disney one? I have Tweenies, Rosie and Jim and Barney (all in an auction box at around 10p each) but the ones that are selling well are all Disney, my husband who thinks he's very funny says that I keep having Disney spells........:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hi all,

I have a amazon marketplace account (used and new) which I have been using for a year and more now.

I decided a couple of days ago to upgrade to a pro merchant account as i sell over 30 items a month so I read through here it would make more sense.

I am really confused now about the difference between a marketplce item and a Zshop item. I currently have 0 zshop items and loadsa marketplace

I sold one of my items yesterday evening and I dont see it being any cheaper than usual (I thought you saved 0.86 or so per item)

Am I doing something wrong. I cant find much on the amazon help page.

Is anyone else a pro merchant? If so can you advise me

    Thanks
  • Hi cutebabe, do you have any old 'sold dispatch now' emails (or if you don't have any to hand have a look at your transaction pages - this is linked from your seller account page) and look at similar priced items so that you can compare the old ones with the new ones? you don't see anything written on the email that says, to the effect - 'here's 86p because you're a Pro Merchant' it will just be that your fees are 86p less per item than before you converted.

Don't worry about the Zshops/ Marketplace thing, it's all Marketplace in effect (unless someone tells me different!)

    HI Guys
I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who posts on this thread. I have gone from someone who sold one book because I no longer needed it to a wanna be pro merchant (after my hols) who has 1500 books listed and is selling tons a week. My debts are reducing and although I'm pretty busy every day I feel I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Without your help, support and tips I would never have got to this point and I am grateful to you all. I hope everyone has a great summer and a load of sales.
    Thanks again

Thanks for the help. The only thing im confused about is my storefront now says no open listings. Do they needed to be listed as Zshops for them to appear here

    also...

I have checked and it doesnt look like my 86p is being deducted. I have emailed them a couple of times with no response.

    Can I join please? :D

I have just listed my first five books and so will patiently await a sale. I might even pop to a few car boot sales at the weekend to get some good deals!

Hi Louise - 29 is the next number up so help yourself, come back and ask for help anytime you get stuck but best of all come back and let us know when you have your first sale - there's always a little cheer goes up in households round the country

No worries bagpuss, the list is on the way to you right now, good luck!

Cutebabe why don't you check in your account, down the right hand side it has a box called 'subscriptions' it says to become a pro-m erchant click register, if you click 'register' it will take you to a new page and it shouls say you are already registered, if it doesn't it means that it hasn't taken effect yet, either way it might be best for you to give amazon a ring, they are helpful and friendly on the phone. Their number is 0800 279 6620.
Let us know how you get on, I hope it is resolved soon.

My sales have slowed a bit, I have actually dipped below the 33 a month which means I am sad:( so please send me all your positive thoughts for this week, would like some sales before I have to put my holiday settings on. I'm off on the QE2 for a week on saturday - very excited as never been on a cruise before - I paid for this cruise out of my sales - how exciting!

I did sell a video for £20 though - that was a shock! It was pineapple studios street jazz dancing video.

Nice to see you are back larmy - did you have a nice holiday? Was it hard not selling anything while you were away - I really don't want to put my holiday settings on, I hate the idea of missing out on sales!

Yeah !! sold 2 books last night as I was going to bed got about £20 for both inc postage. REALLY great, its lovely when that suprise email comes through.
I take it you need a lot of books listed as I have had trouble getting decent ones after my first auction purchase. The ones that are for sale the last 2 auctions have been rubish and too dear , so I am hoping next week !
I read on this thread someoend said they had about 500 listings to sell regularily, is that true , what is the best amount of books to be selling ?
    Thanks :T
