So true. Before the smoking ban, many non-smokers stated that they did not not go to pubs because of the smoke. But since the ban, having got their way...........they still don't go to pubs.
That's certainly very true. The most vociferous anti-smokers were never pub goers anyway (beyond the occasional meal out).
This is why we're witnessing the demise of the British Ale House

Frankly we have to protect people (and others; like their children) from themselves.
And it's ludicrous statements like that (which I'm sure you most sincerely hold) that has given us the 'nanny' state we have now.
I detest this. I am aware that my actions have consequences and am quite willing to accept that. I don't need anyone telling me what's good for me! :mad:0 -
ah, so if someone who is disabled parks right by the door they have to walk 40ft to an ashtray and 40ft back just to keep the non smokers happy? yeah you don't sound at all selfish :T
and you can shop on line if it bothers you that much...
Don't be silly, they can use the ash tray in their car

Not because they are constantly under attack from rabid anti-smokers?

Oh dear, the poor non smokers, they also have to negotiate their way through the crowded supermarket car parks, often through a pall of exhaust fumes after they have parked their own poxy car.
" Pot kettle and black "

Watching Panaroma where a father refuses to stop smoking in front of his child even though the doctors have told him that it is affecting his son's hearing.
I'm not bother so much about smokers harming their own health but I am bothered about them affecting other people's health, especially children.
For example, research shows that people been seen smoking encourage other people to take up smoking.

The supermarket in question is Asda, but I'm sure others do the same thing and that is to put bins with ashtrays on top right outside the entrance to the store! Why encourage people to smoke in the door ways forcing people who don't want to breath in these putrid fumes to have to!
Also, There is an ashtray right next to the cash point at my local Asda. So once again, you're hit by this god awful smell whilst using the machine!
There should be a non smoking perimeter around stores, say from the trolly park to the road, so you can have a clear path to the entrance with out having to dodge smoke.
rant over.
It sounds like you need to get a life!0 -

Do you drink wine, spirits or beer?
If you do, do you think you are encouraging others to drink?
Would it be right to remove all alcohol from shop shelves and stop everyone drinking in their homes in case children are more likely to drink when older..0 -
By gum the addicts are getting worried.
You need to check out the Labour and Tory manifestos.
