So true. Before the smoking ban, many non-smokers stated that they did not not go to pubs because of the smoke. But since the ban, having got their way...........they still don't go to pubs."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

Wow, I'm really suprised at some of the comments that have been made!
I think my favourite one was about the obese person eating the pasty, and I think it's a fair comment, IF the said pasty eater force fed you a bit of the pasty too coz essentially that is what a smoker does if they smoke in the vicinity of someone else!0 -

Hmmmm this is always an emotive topic isn't it? I don't smoke but I'm kind of in the middle here because I think if people want to smoke that's totally their choice, we all have vices and let's be fair there are now restrictions on where people can smoke and some non smokers are still not happy. On the other hand as several people have pointed out because of the smoking ban, smokers are now forced to go outside, so places like beer gardens are full of people smoking because they can't smoke in the pub. I can appreciate that this can be uncomfortable for non smokers, but honestly where are they meant to go?
I took my two nephews to a family friendly pub for some lunch in the small beer garden as it was lovely and sunny and we had to leave as it was full of smokers and the little one has asthma so I didn't want to risk it as he's not my child. I was about to take them inside for food when the older nephew loudly announced that the garden smelt "disgusting" and he wanted to go. We got some stinking looks from the smokers and promptly left for pizza hut.0 -
What a demented thread.
The demonisation of people who choose to smoke is getting ridiculous. Personally I like to light up whenever I'm outside, it helps keep the freaks out of my personal space.
I am considerate and try to avoid blowing smoke near passing people, especially kids. But if you choose to walk within an inch of me, then you may catch a whiff of my smoke. For about 2 seconds. It won't give you chuffing cancer. It won't exacerbate your asthma. The tonnes of constant traffic fumes might though.
As others have pointed out, the anti-smokers got their way with the smoking ban, now they need something else to complain about 'errgh, the smell'.
Well I think that people who stink of BO or overused perfume/aftershave are more of a menace than a bit of fag smoke. Ban stinkies I say. Or tax them.0
