Grr Ashtrays outside supermarket doors!

It's the same at our local Asda, the ashtrays are right next to the doors yet there is a massive glass fronted area 2 - 3 meters away that's the front of the building (The doors are round the side), I know that people have asked why the ashtrays can't be there then people don't have to walk through a cloud of smoke.
The thing with smoking that really bugs me, is when I have to go into hospital and there's people wandering about the unit attached to bags of chemotherapy and looking rather ill trying to get a fag off people. It just want to scream 'Do You Not Learn?'.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0

Yes, youoooo, get yoursel gone,
....running behind with a big stick aiming for the back of the legs.....:Dmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
People seem to light up immediately and hang around outside alot of public buildings round here, not just supermarkets.
My gripe is when they smoke next to the bicycle stands - I have to try and hold my breath whilst loading my shopping and escaping.
I think I preferred it BEFORE the smoking ban - at least you could try and avoid certain places then. Now, where-ever you go outdoors, there's no escape
Presumably vehicle fumes are perfectly acceptable to you......0 -

I aways find that a strange comparison, for starters, exhaust pipes don't chug out fumes at you at head level whilst walking past? and the cause of exhaust fumes are kind of nessesary for everyone aren't they? I mean, I expect we wouldn't bother going to the supermarkets if there weren't lorrys on the road supplying them.
Smoking really doesn't serve any purpose though, other than to satisfy the person that's smoking
Oooh and also, fags smell soooo much worse than exhaust fumes.0 -
I get really fed up of the smoker bashers, you moan so theres a law passed so that we have to smoke outside.
You got us outside and you moan even more. !!!!!!
So complain to the supermarket.

Oh there are more than us we satisfy, many ex smokers say to me,
'I' love getting downwind of a smoker for a little while, God its wonderful
just to smell it for a couple of minutes.':rotfl::rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

It serves the purpose of lining the government's coffers.
I suppose you have no bad habits whatsoever. You reckon that it's ok for smokers to sit outside of pubs in cold weather but not when the weather is hot!! Perhaps there should just be a law passed making smokers officially second class citizens. We could be banned from using public transport and all be sent to live in shanty towns0 -

Possibly up to 50% of car journeys are under 5 miles so could be walked or cycled, so not strictly "necessary".0 -
Smoking bashers are so boring. OK, you got your way and we can't enjoy a smoke inside, now stop moaning because we stand outside an do it. Just scurry along on your way.
Ex-smokers moaning are simply hypocrites.0 -

Not all cancers are caused by smoking. As the amount of children suffering from it can testify. They haven't all been subjected to passive smoking, although most have had exhaust fumes at face level from birth while being pushed around in buggys.0
