Resurrecting this thread.
Tesco Value Frozen prawns used to be 300g (320g with ice glaze), now, for the same price they're 250g (280g with ice glaze). So we get less prawns and more water for the same price.
Also we ordered two packs of 72 Finish dishwasher tablets at work this summer. When they came the supplier had pointed out that due to a manufacturer's pack size change they were now only 68 tablets but not reduced the price.0 -
Toothpaste tubes now also shrinking with many no longer 100ml

Just posted a "cheese warning" thread (hadn't seen this one). Wyke Farm (one of the branded cheddars) now down to 320g.
So a 400g pack works out 25% more.Can I help?0 -
Huggies nappies. I buy my LO size 4+ there used to be 52 in a pack now there is 48. Same price of course!0

Bought Whiskas tins the other day as our cat had been on pouches (Fussy eater like most of them), which are just getting too expensive. Even Whiskas has gone from 400g tins to 390g, small drop I know, but still a bit less saves their company more. I do most Food shopping at Aldi, who I don't think have price shrunk yet, and Poundstretcher for most paper goods/ toilet rolls etc. Think more people are cottoning on that Aldi is cheaper than other supermarkets unless things are on special offer, and you have to factor in travelling costs just to buy one or two things. If you haven't tried Aldi, please do. They are just as good for most things and even they have the cheaper and Finer ranges, for some things.0

...well they are probably doing it for the goodness of their heart, to combat the cats obesity epidemic, and save us money in vet bills....
they ought to be careful tampering with cat food, I bet they have substitute some ingredients with cheaper higher calories stuff to keep the same nutrition values (as if the stuff in it wasn't already the lowest quality possible...)0 -
Sorry if this sounds a bit of an odd one but I have been hanging some Laura Ashley wallpaper today and could not believe how thin it now is. Laura Ashley paper was always really easy to put up because it was so thick. They even used to print on the label that it was printed on 165gsm (I think) paper. It now feels to be maybe half that and feels no better than something from Wilkinsons or B&Q, possibly even worse, but at £35 a roll I expected more. Much more!! It was very difficult to put up without tearing and there was even a faulty roll. I definitely won't be buying more.
