  • I know its not human food, but Wagg Dog food bags, used to be 15kg, now 12kg, but still the same price, kept thinking I must be feeding my pair too much since a bag used to last around 2 weeks, now only lasts around 1 1/2 weeks!

I noticed in Iceland on Saturday that the packets of Kingsmill hot cross buns usually 2 packets of 4 buns for £1 have changed to a 6 pack of buns for £1, I suppose the muffins will become a 6 pack soon too !

Aye and although it happened to vegetables a while back, new Christmas lines of potatoes and veg, which last year I'm sure where 1kg, are 900g. The veg has all shrunk like that already.

I had actually noticed some things which have gotten cheaper (shock horror), but I can't remember them now, might have been those 520g chicken/turkey roasting joints as I think they went back up to 550g or 580g. Also Iceland chicken strips (the breaded ones which come in breaded, southern fried, hot & spicy & BBQ) used to be 360g, been 320g for a little while.

it's not food and it's not reduced in size... but Carex hand soap is now just like thick coloured water, it doesn't clean, and if you hands are dirty and they stink, they will still be as dirty and stinky after washing them...

Tesco organic chick peas, red kidney beans etc now only 380g so other 400g cartons/tins may be better value
  • I can't believe that "I can't believe it's not Butter" have the cheek to put their pack size back up to 500g and claim they're giving 25% free!!!

They've probably had to do it because everyone quickly realised they'd dropped the pack size by 20% but not changed the price. Do they really think their customers are so stupid they can't see this happening?

I think the prepacked f&v reducing in size is due to the poor weather we had in the spring and summer. Obviously prices have gone up and have to adjust the prepacked weights to incorporate the increase in price.

I bought a milkyway for the first time in years. They are so thin now, width wise, I had to double check I had picked up the right thing

wilkin jam, used to cost around £1.60, I stopped buying because it go too expensive, now £2.09, jar looks smaller, and what is much worse is that the jam now only tastes of sugar, fruit content looks much lower than before.
what a pity, it was my favourite and was not happy to switch to a cheap jam, which is actually 10 times better quality (waitrose essential range, 80p jam, 51p marmalade)
  • Bernard Mathews Chicken Slices have gone from 8 slices to 7 this month. They were 10 slices about 2 years ago, then slipped to 9, then 8 and now 7. Same price of course.

About 4 months back Tesco had 420g of Ham for sale at £3. This reduced to 310g for £2.50 about 3 months ago. This month it has changed from 310g to 285g but keeping the price of £2.50.
