Munching my way through a bag of Seabrooks crisps yesterday and was shocked to see it was only 25grammes! It was from a multipack so not sure if the single packs are also now 25g and the size is not mentioned on thier website.
They used to be 32g by the way so that equates to a price increase of around 20%.
Still the best crisps IMO but who wants a bag of crisps with a poxy 25g in it?

    Ian.

    Doritos is joining in!
    200g packs now. Not 225g anymore:mad::mad::mad:
  • My local newspaper in the West Midlands ran an article in tuesdays paper about the cost of weekly shop going up 21% in 4 years. What caught my eye was a list of foods saying what we paid in 2009 and the prices today for LESS quantity.
Being a chocoholic, the one that leapt out at me Cadburys Dairy Milk - Feb 2009, £1.55 for 230g (sainsburys), Feb 2013,£1.99 for 200g.

American television series. You used to get twenty-two or twenty-six episodes a season. Nowadays you're lucky to get a dozen - sometimes as little as eight. What's more, you don't always receive a complete season - sometimes they are split into two and separated by months and a second half season is mis-sold as a whole new season.

Very similar to the programmes that probably last an hour but if you take out all the ad breaks and all the sequences where they repeat the bit before the ad breaks (for those with the attention span of a gnat) you probably get about 30 mins of actual content.

Then there's the Superscrimpers programmes on recently where they just rehashed the old series. Very mse!;)
  • Latest shrinking food product noticed on Thursday. Warburtons bread is now 750g loaf used to be 800g and still same price £1.35.

this is a real biggie, the most basic item in our trolleys, in my opinion.
so either slices are smaller, or the loaf is short, or more fluffy bread so most people won't really notice...
  • Mr A used to have Branston baked beans as a four pack. Sometimes on special for £1.
I was in there last night and they had them in packs of 3 for a £1.
And the tins are noticably smaller!

Where will it all stop? Do these supermarkets really think we don't notice?

Add soup to the list of 'Bad Guys'

Yorkshire Provender Fresh Soup - used to be 600g now only 550g and, like the rest of them, advertised as being an exciting improvement.

Yep I noticed this too! Not only that but the 4 packs were "on offer" for £2, yet at the back of the shop on an aisle end shelf were the "3 tins for £1" - so I buy 4 cans for £2 or 6 cans for £2 if I buy the three packs? No brainer!
