Why has this thread suddenly (and apparently randomly) moved into 'Gone Off' board just like the Aldi/Lidl one did a couple of weeks ago?

The other thread then moved back but not sure what's going on.

An explanation would be good (on both counts).

    No, 25% is correct.

It started at 1000g (the "base"/starting weight) and has changed by 250g.

    250/1000 = 25%

(if you change FROM 750 to 500 or 1000, THAT would be a change of 250/750 = 33%)
The pack size/weight decreased by 25%. But that means the price per unit weight increases by 33%.

Four Mars bars for a pound - 25 p each
Decrease pack size by 25% - Three Mars bars for a pound - 33.3 p each.
    But 33.333/25 is 1.33, not 1.25.

If you pay the same for 750 g than you did for 1000 g then to now get back to 1000 g you need to buy 250 g more - but that 250 g is a third of the new pack size and costs a third of the old pack price on top of the old pack price.

    0.75 x 1.25 (3/4 x 5/4) does not equal one.

If you reduce something by a quarter you cannot just add a quarter of that new smaller thing to get back to the original.

Maybe it's like the Elite thread, I got the impression that threads they get a lot of complaints about (from the companies mentioned) are buried in dead sub-forums.
I'm sure Waitrose don't want people to know that they get their jam made by the same people who make Asda's (etc etc lots of examples here)...
