Bought from Asda I can't believe it's not butter, and noticed the tub has shrunk from 500g to 400g - unfortunately the price hasn't shrunk! So deceiving!! :mad:Every days a School day!0

If the price and weight are clearly displayed on the SEL then it's not deception. As costs increase so must turnover, they can either do this by increasing prices or decreasing product sizes.
In other news, this product is currently on BOGOF at Tesco(Or at least it was on Sunday...)

Well technically it's not, but I bet they did it hoping people wouldn't notice the amount you get has gone down. Then decide not to buy it in favour of a very similar product at the same price and in a 500g pack.
After all, spreads have been in 250 and 500g packs for decades, so who looks at the weight?
IMO if you do something hoping people won't notice you have done it, then you are trying to deceive them.0 -

Are the actual tubs smaller, or are they the same size just not filled as full?
i.e. When the tubs are on the shelf next to a 500g tub of another brand is it instantly noticeable that this tub is smaller than a 500g tub?0 -
There was a programme on television a few months back showing this sort of thing and they definately saw it as deceiving the public. Think it was Gloria Hunneford, THe Truth About Food, but I'm not sure. We all know that it happens but rightly feel aggrieved in my opinion. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

They do this all the time - buy real butter - better for you, delicious, no added junk and always either 250gms or 500gms. easy.

Grapes will start in the Autumn to shrink from 500gms punnet to 400gms, this has been trialled during expensive parts if the year in the past but will become retail standard soon."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

I noticed the other day that Readycell AA and AAA alkaline batteries from Home Bargains now have 8 in a pack instead of 10. That's a 20% price rise.0
