Bertollis pasta sauce has gone down in size from 500g to 400g with no reduction in price, did manage to find some of the 500g in home bargains at a reasonable price

The Bertolli pasta sauce has been like for a while now. Yes i also found some of the larger jars in Home Bargains so stocked up.

I've been buying packs of chicken thighs from M&S regularly for a couple of years now. At £4 for 1kg it was reasonable value but was often on a 3 for £10 deal which was even better. However when I went to stock up again this week I found they've reduced the pack weight to 750g but the price is the same. This amounts to a 25% increase - ridiculous!
    That's a 33% increase, not a 25% increase.

The ironic thing DC, is that newjake has just copied and pasted one of your own posts from 2010 :)

I noticed the other day that Readycell AA and AAA alkaline batteries from Home Bargains now have 8 in a pack instead of 10. That's a 20% price rise.

Went to Home Bargains at weekend to discover that the new 8 packs of ReadyCell batteries have now shrunk to 6 packs! It was only August that I posted about them going down from 10 to 8. Different packaging to try to fool us but still branded as ReadyCell.

So each battery that used to cost 10p then went to 12.5p and is now 16.5p. That's a 65% increase in less than 4 months! How I wish my wages increased that fast!

    No, 25% is correct.

It started at 1000g (the "base"/starting weight) and has changed by 250g.

    250/1000 = 25%

(if you change FROM 750 to 500 or 1000, THAT would be a change of 250/750 = 33%)

I came to highlight the change in Walkers 6-pack crisps.

A month our two ago they were 3 for £4.00 6x32.5g packs changed to 3 for £3.00 6x25g.

Now they've gone up again to 3 for £4.00 for the smaller 25g packs.

Noticed the first change when I needed an extra packet to make my usual crisp sandwiches!!

I think the point being made is that a reduction in weight of 25% (with no change in cost) represents a 33% increase in price.

Cornetto, no supermarket brand left so bought this one, they are tiny compared to the supermarket and paid more!
