My apologise if it has been mentioned

Spec!al K has now reduced to a 400g box with a price tag of £2.69, at a 20% reduction in size, it should be £2.39

I was in Sainsburys today and noticed that Calypso Jubblies are going from 10 in a box to 8.. 20% less.

Still the same price though... :(

I wonder if the Governments plans for calories to be cut will simply mean more items are downsized:

Asda's own brand baby wipes ('Little Angels') - used to be 80 in a packet, now 64 (we have both the old and new packets so we know that this is true) - 20% less. The price remains unchanged (4 for £3).
  • Gillete anti-perspirent deodrant sprays have shrunk from 200ml to 150ml. Assuming the price has stayed the same (and my maths is right) that's gone up a third!

    Decided to buy another brand

I've noticed LOADS of shrinking products recently. Bold washing liquid has gone down to 24 washes from 25. The large boxes of powder are now 38 washes instead of 42. The large bottles of Lenor used to be 1.5l and they are now 1.4 litres ... prices of all of these are still the same. I've also noticed a lot of 'creative' packaging going on, things like the large fairy liquid bottles are now taller, wider and slimmer but contain less liquid! Very infuriating as it seems you have scrutinise each and every single item you buy, I think they rely on people 'sleep shopping' and just throwing the brand they have always bought into their trolley without paying any attention to it.

I've trained myself away from a lot of 'big brands' but I can't find cheaper laundry detergents I'm happy with so just pay close attention and buy in bulk when on offer.

Tesco value scampi has been renamed and is now bites instead of pieces or vice versa but when I picked up a pack the other day for roughly the same price it was 250g compared to the older pack in the freezer which was 300g

I work nights in a supermarket and last night on the cereal aisle I had 565g boxes of honey cheerios which must be replacing the 600g, and all the 375g special K varieties came in at 320g, although these ones went elsewhere on offer so can't be 100% sure that's a permanent line. Next thing we know Andrex will start making the cardboard tubes fatter so they can get away with giving us less loo roll:eek:

They already are - the loo roll holder at home used to 'just' fit the inside tube and now it's all loose and sloppy indicating that the inside cardboard tube is a larger diameter but the roll is the same size so we are getting fewer sheets for our money...
