  • Manged to get £110 off insurance, digney grant was my cheapest quote, Banbridge 40662084. Was £90 cheaper but current issuer beat it by £20 (only because I shaved £20 off DG quote).

  • Tried esure online and they don't quote for NI!
  • Changed to Allianz last May as they were the cheapest I could find.

  • hello all, i have never posted before so here goes........i had a car crash last year, i was insured with quinn direct my insurance cover was third party fire and theft costing me £530.00. i had 1 years no claims bonus, quinn direct delt with the claims against my insurance very quickly there was £8000.00 paid out, i then got an invite to renew my insurance with them at a cost of £970.00 i thought it wasn't too bad as i was expecting anound £1200.00 to renew, but i checked this site out and got a few companies names, some wanted me to pay £1900.00 for third party fire and theft!!! i tried elephant.co.uk they gave me a quote of £630.00 t/p f&t, i phoned them to make sure that it was not some sort of a mistake, it wasn't! although it is for only 10 mths but hey i can live with that. i dont know if this helps anyone else but this site helped me, thanks money savers.
  • Hello Redron6 here I am a newby but here go'es. Join the CSMA it costs £17 a year but you will get that back easy with the money you save; car insurance is just one of the many things they offer. I got my renewal quote from Royal sun Alliance £420 fully comp I then phoned around; Frizzell was one I phoned they Quoted me £380 fully comp.
I then phoned back stating I was a CSMA member And they quoted me £279 fully comp. That is not all I get Cheap car rescue through these; Cheaper than the AA RAC by miles for the same service level. I also had to rent a car For ten days I phoned Europe car, who deal with CSMA members First I got a quote as a non member £320 then I phoned as a member £240, it dos'nt end there you can get money of cars, holidays and various other things to many to mention. It's the Cival Service Members Association and any one can join, just put CSMA in Google or any other search engine and you should find them.
I hope you save lots like I have. :)

Looking for cheaper car insurance for NI, most of the main insurers will not provide cover for NI. At the mo insured with privilege, they now no longer operate over here but will honour current customers policies. I think they are sticking the arm in because of this. Anyone got any suggestions? BTW driving a 97 saxo vtr, F, age 29

(Note: *Also Martin's article on car insurance HERE is useful for providing the logical base on how to find the cheaper although the specific recommendations don't apply to Northern Ireland.

BTW the best quote for me with a '97 VW Golf GL 1.6 is £950 with Erne Insurance. I don't have any no claims bonus but have 3 years as a named driver

It’s quite ridiculous to get a better insurance quote for a woman and a worse for a man. No one would have ever accepted this if they gave me better insurance quote because I am black. Or in N. Ireland case give Protestants better insurance quotes than Catholics or vice versa.
Is this not gender prejudice? My human rights are being violated, think I’ll have to go to the European court for human rights. or at least down the hall and get a sandwich...

be careful about 10 month insurnace polices because i had read that other insurance brokers dont recognise them, which can cause problems when it comes to years of no claims and when/if you move on to another insurance provider

In Martin's article he states that even if you have protected no claims and you have an accident, you are viewed as higher risk and premiums will rise anyway (that's how I understood it anyway?). Do you therefore think it is worth paying the extra £30 (in my case) for this 'protection'?
Your views on this would be very welcome. Thanks!
