The 'safety' angle claim makes me giggle a bit, because I remember when it was perfectly legal to smoke on planes. I remember flying to Tenerife with a boyfriend who was nevous of flying and pretty much chain-smoked the entire journey.

Not pleasant for the non-smokers, but not a problem then for the airline concerned - how time have changed!

    :rotfl:

It is a real shame that all smokers aren't provided with a bag around their head so they can polute their own air space only.

Years ago, I was on a flight... it was either British Midland or BA, I cant quite remember :o

The flight attendants came round with duty free.
The woman in the seat in front of me, bought 200 cigarettes.
She then proceeded to open them, as if she was going to light one up.
The flight attendant, told her that she was not allowed to smoke on the flight....

She went a little OTT with the guy, putting on a right show, in an extremly loud voice, saying that why was he selling her fags if she wasn't allowed to smoke them... and it was a riduculous expectation that she should wait until she was within the terminal building ect ect.

The flight attendant was brilliant in his reply.
He calmly stated, in an equally loud voice
"Well Madame, if you buy condoms in Boots, due you expect to use them then and there also ?":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

She promplty sat down, and did not move the rest of the flight. :rotfl::rotfl:

You must be on telly all the time - that episode of Airline is regularly repeated ;)

A Spanish chap in front of me on a Ryanair went for a sneaky cig in the toilet. The stewardesses reported him to the captain but he just got off with a stiff warning.

But of course it is OK for the airports and airlines to sell alcohol to passengers.:(
In glass bottles, even in the immediate aftermath of september 11 2001. But not OK to carry on a a modern safety razor.
