Well I got the stock email from them this morning after my complaint last Friday:-

    Dear xxx
    Thank you for your email.
Our 1st birthday sale was incredibly popular as so many customers
attended our party and tried to snap up a designer bargain.

We’re sorry you missed out this time but stay tuned for future events
as there’s always something new and exciting happening at theOutnet.

As you RSVP'd to attend our celebrations, and didn’t get a chance
to shop our Pop-Up sale, we’ll send you an email today with a
    promotional code for free shipping!

    Sent the following in reply:-
Thanks for your pro-forma reply but I think you missed my point, which means you probably haven't even read my original email. Way to make a person feel valued - not.

Your website could not cope with the volume of traffic, meaning myself and many other prospective customers wasted countless hours of our day last Friday just trying to get logged on, let alone "snap up a designer bargain" as you so facetiously put it. Your web analytics (if you have any) should tell you just what the scale of your problems are.

With respect I suggest that next time you support your site rather better than you did last week by making sure it can cope with the volume of traffic; however I wont be joining in as I have unsubscribed from your mailing list, and I have suggested to everyone I know to do the same (several have taken up this option).

Oh, and if you advertise yourself on GMTV again then I will be contacting the programme immediately to ask them to advise their viewers not to bother, and the reasons why. A PR disaster waiting to happen, I feel.

    Yours in antipathy

    xxxx

PS: Dont bother with the "free delivery" email as I wont be going anywhere near you ever again, and you certainly wont be getting any of my hard earned cash.

Dunno if it will make any difference but it sure made me feel better!! :rotfl:

    Wow.

You clearly need something more in your life. It was a sale, not a life crisis.

You make some good points. It sounds like they just sent you their bog standard reply. It's more the fact that their site couldn't cope with the sale, that they don't seem to be reading!
