It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Never had ale and flapjack before... sounds like a worthy plan!

I've had a good couple MSE weeks. I finally did a review of the freezer contents. I haven't had to buy meat for 2 weeks in a row, saving about £50 on groceries as a result. I could easy go another 2 weeks providing the family can stomach endless pork loin chops... (24 to get used!!!) NJ has also decided that he loves flapjack for school snacks which is saving me a fortune in granola bars and crisps. He also prefers haslet to ham in his sandwiches which is WAAAAAY cheaper. He's easily pleased that boy.

I also finally drafted up a cash flow for the joint account and my personal account and I love it! I update daily with spending and can see exactly how much cash I have and will have at any time. Somewhat inconveniently CB have changed their internet banking and I can't login at all now. Thankfully the app covers most bases so it isn't a complete disaster - I just need to find the energy to phone up and get things fixed. As things currently stand, the joint account will not need topped up this month and I have clawed back £50 of my overdraft. Hoping to be out of it completely by Christmas.

I still need to get back in the survey groove. Work has been beyond busy and for some reason I just don't think about doing them at home. I can't do them on the train - the on-board Wi-Fi is so poor ScotRail's own app doesn't work!

    That's all for now!

Thanks. Feels like a bit of a slog at the moment.

My job is really getting me down and that is sapping a lot of my energy.

  • That's a shame, is there any way you can change jobs?

I'm trying without success at the moment. Had a few second interview but no success, despite ritual sacrifices (thanks Uncanny :rotfl:).I would like to move up a grade but opportunities in my specialism and at that level are currently thin on the ground. The right thing will come along eventually but in the meantime I need to re-engage with my current role.

  • All sounding very good Luc, aside from the job but I suppose currently it is a means to an end? XX
