Well done on passing your theory! That's on my to- do list too! I've sat it twice, passed it twice, but I keep letting it expire before getting round to learning to actually drive :rotfl: Really need to get myself sorted as it's such a silly thing to not be able to do, but I've just never needed to!

Good call on the interview. The right thing will come along for you :) No point going for something if it's just a plaster and you'll feel the same way in a few months when the dusts settled.
    Total Debt : ?? / ??
  • Congrats on the theory :) I also let mine expire twice I think!

Hope you find an exciting role soon. I am looking too but in a very half hearted fashion!

Also trying to not spend anything so I don't have a CC bill at the end of the month. Must. Break. The. Cycle. Grrrr.

    Big hugs XXXXXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Ps. I never the hang of YNAB at all. I think this is essentially because my financial state is simply Skint and Not Skint (the latter only happens for about 4 days till all my bills go out.) The rest of the time it is best if I don't spend. I need to learn this more full obviously. XX

I was struggling but I watched some YouTube videos - one that was particularly helpful is by a guy called Nick True. I would fully recommend him and the actual YNAB company videos to anyone who is struggling because it does need a bit of a mental shift in perspective. I am converted and will be evangelising until Hubbles is too...

Not much else to report really. Bit skint this month but I can SEE for the first time ever with absolute clarity why that is and I KNOW I can get ahead of the bills and break the month to month cycle with a drop of discipline.

    Have a great weekend everyone

Oh - I meant to ask - how long does it take prolific to pay out on Circle?

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

    L.O.V.I.N.G YNAB. Absolutely loving it!

New wallpaper mural thing for front room arrived and sadly it is too yellowy (our front room is bright white and soft grey) so it must go back and we need a rethink... Still that's £120 back to the bank :)

    Had a great weekend:
    • Hubbles is home safe from India and we are VERY glad to have him back :)
    • Driving instructor told me I can drive, just need to get experience so I deal better with new situations. Not convinced I'll have my licence this year, but should be on for early next year which is great. :D
    • Had a girly afternoon out - book signing/author interview followed by drinks and dinner. Cost the princely sum of £22 for the whole thing. I call that a win :p
    • Have been finding time to be arty/creative and I am LOVING it!

Otherwise not much on the go. I did interview for that job after all but, as expected, not for me and their feedback was that I am too experienced for the position. No surprises there then. :silenced:

Did I mention I quite like YNAB?

    Happy Monday Fun Day!

Just wanted to report that vegan meringues really work!!! My Mum (who is VERY allergic to eggs) was so happy she cried! So much cheaper than using eggs as well. Fluid from one 35p can of chickpeas made a pavlova big enough for 6 generous portions. As this is a by-product of homemade hummus it is almost a free pudding! :money:

Still in love with YNAB and can't wait for Thursday and Friday pay days so I can give my £s a job :D

Checked bank accounts this morning, only to see a charge od £59.82 (excluding the monthly payment for his handset) for Virgin mobile on Hubbles' phone. When I asked him to check he told me he forgot to turn roaming off when he was in India the other week. Doofus! He thinks he can claim it back - I hope so because that is £40 more than contracted! Pre YNAB it wouldn't have registered until much later and we would have incurred charges so that, at least, is a small win.

Also returned the disappointing wall paper so will keep an eye out for that coming back onto the CC.

Went to see 'A Star Is Born' last night - Hubbles gets a discount on tickets through work so £13 for 2 instead of £15ish each. Hubbles also bought our dinner which was amazing. I feel quite spoiled this morning. To anyone planning to go see the film - DO NOT forget your hankies... you have been warned!
