  • Mikon, almost sounds like a computer generated letter that we all received when we first started. So maybe because it was passed over they kicked started again. Nice of them to make sure it arrived near a holiday weekend, when areas of help would be closed. Almost like they take pleasure in making people worry. Good job we know their little tricks. They can't have what we haven't got and we are at least trying to pay them back.

I thought the same planned it to land on my mat today ruin my week off work as I worry about it.

I just cannot understand it because the lady from Moorcroft said that Next no longer accepted my DMP. However the letter ends saying we may be able to negotiate a payment plan.

I have to say it is quite worrying and is ruining my day.

Well don't let it, I know that is easier said than done but please try.

I just cannot understand it because the lady from Moorcroft said that Next no longer accepted my DMP. However the letter ends saying we may be able to negotiate a payment plan.

Which means it is a threat and in the end they will no doubt accept the same plan. Metropolitan are they only ones I've been passed over to from HSBC and other than me wondering about the account numbers being different, not had any feedback and Payplan have just continued to pay them.

I have to say it is quite worrying and is ruining my day.
Please don't give them the satisfaction, hope the weather is as good in your neck of the woods as it is in mine, sister has just phoned and is doing a BBQ and tomorrow I am at another friends. So I don't need to think about feeding myself for two days.

Chin up. Just think how much more it would cost them if they were to chase you for £200.

    Hi everyone

    Needs some help

Just received a letter from Moorcroft Debt Recovery who have taken over my debt of £200 from NEXT. The letter states it is an INTENDED LITIGATION. Payment in full must be made in 7 days or by 26/4/11.

I have rang Moorcroft who were very vague.

They informed me that NEXT no longer accepted the DMP payment and have passed it on to Moorcroft to recover. I have informed them that I am with CCCS and gave her my ref number. I asked her what happens next and again quite vague but she said they may accept payment or go to court. Not very clear need to speak with CCCS on Tuesday. She informed me that they have not bought the debt but are just acting on behalf of NEXT. I did tell them that the amount due on the letter was wrong and I disputed the balance but she did not seem to bothered she said I would need to write to them about the disputed payments and prove I have paid.

Think I will drop them a letter to support the call and contact CCCS.

If they want to take me to court for £200 so be it, but I am a bit worried.

Anyone had similar experience with Moorcroft?

    Hi Mikon,

Firstly try not worry - I think that it is vvvvvvvv unlikely that they will take you to court for £200. I have let CCCS know about changes from creditors via email and found they got back to me quite quickly if that is any help.

Def drop a letter with all the CCCS info to moorcroft. In turn the CCCS will also send them your budget again and another letter.

I think that it is all a formality, and computer generated. You may be in a position to offer them a low F&F if you can afford to do it as they are selling it on. I;ve heard not so good thigns about Moorcroft but you might have the upper hand on this one.

Remember THEY CAN'T HAVE WHAT YOU HAVEN'T GOT!!

Try not to let it worry you, have a good weekend x
  • Offer them a F and F Mikon, start with 20%, but say it's from a relative.
Moorcroft will have bought the debt for peanuts.
They've got one of mine and have been ok, but their letters are a bit threatening, but as Gabs says it's computer generated, there is no way they'll go to court for £200, get F and Fing. PP

This 6 year thing for PPI isn't quite a clear cut as you imagine.

If you still have the paperwork, account number etc then make a claim. The 6 year guide is because banks won't keep any paperwork longer than 6 years so it will nigh on impossible to get the info from them.

    Hi All

Letter sent to Moorcroft outlining my financial situation and informing them that I am DMP and that CCCS are authorised to deal with my financial affairs and therefore they need to be dealing with CCCS directly failure to do so contravenes the Lending Code and OFT Debt Collection Guidance.

Also enclosed £1 and requested copy of original credit agreement and a statement detailing payments to date.

Highlighted that I am in dispute with creditor regarding the outstanding balance.

Pointed out that I had received letter from creditor a week ago agreeing to a further 3 month payment plan.

I have also included the template for door step visits advising them not to visit my property as they will be breaking the law and that if they wish to visit then they need to make an appointment I have no intention of making such an appointment.

I have informed them that I will continue to pay to them what I paid to the creditor via my DMP.

I have asked them to respond in 12 working days in accordance with the CCA.

Now its wait and see. I have laid my cards on the table lets see what comes back.

Prof P F & F is up my sleeve waiting for the next hand to be dealt.

What they don't realise is that they have already breach certain legal requirements under the Consumer Credit Act and hopefully they will continue too.

Letter is being sent recorded delivery because apparently these monkeys tend to ignore or deny reciept of items.

Finally if they do go to court I have been advised that the judge will throw it out because I am paying what I can through an appointed free DMP representative and they may also incur costs for time wasting.
