Hi Gabriella
I can only suggest that you speak to CCCS about the extra £10. Tell them you can ill afford £10 to be spent on interest and that it defeats the purpose of your DMP when the £10 could be better spent on reducing another bill.
It makes sense and I think you will just need to push and push at things until you get your answer.
As for me, I'm about to try and sort out my own issue. Dealing with the right now and the salary I'm on, I have worked out I can just about survive - pay all my bills but with no extra left over - if I remain on the current salary I'm on. This however means reducing my payments from £184 per month in total to around £50 - £80 per month in total. I'm dreading making the phonecalls but its going to have to be done. Do you think I should ring and explain my situation first and then back it up with a letter or send a letter first? My friend, who sorted out her own DMP, did it all over the phone and said it was much easier for her to negotiate that way. She thinks I should tell them all I can only afford the minimum payment of £5 to £10 each per month and once my job situation and income improves, I will automatically put my payments back up.
Basically, as you all know, I have all the same bills to pay - more or less (my electric bill is in credit cause I pay direct debit but it will be a few more months before they review the payments), but I have to survive on £600 less per month which was what paid my mortgage and a number of other essential bills. Hence the need for a second job!
By the way Mikon, loved your information piece. Do me a favour and forward me a sample of a letter -or anyone can - to send to the creditors begging about my situation.
Thanx guys. You're the best.:oDebt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Hi Everybody!
We seem to have some ups and downs at the moment but things seemed to be still quite bright. It's a slog this DMP thang but better than the alternative, and we all know how to deal with those pesky creditors now don't we.
Me?
Well....not a great deal really. Satander have fallen out with me it seems and have stopped the letters. (Que Saturday avalanche!) and everybody else has gone very quiet.
Barclaycard are still charging the bit of interest and they seem to be doing it to everybody. Ho hum.
But.....I was listening to this PPI decision today and decided to look at all my agreements and, lo and behold, one of my loans has PPI, or did till I cancelled it, I paid it for about 20 months. This means I can make a claim for compensation. It won't, unfortunately, clear any debts (it will probably amount to £500 ish i think) but it will make a slight dent in the balance of one of them. And, if it is £500ish, will reduce my Debt Free Day by......one whole month. Which I think is brilliant.:D
Off to fill the form in now. Will keep you informed of any progress.
Keep on, keeping on people. We WILL be debt free.:T

Wish I understood it more. Having said that, it is probably why I certainly had it on my first HSBC and M&S loans as I did not know what they were, the 2nd loan with HSBC I was told I had to take it because of how much I was taking as the loan, so I did. All of those loans were paid back PPI included. When I went on my DMP I must have had something on my M&S card because I had to cancel it before I could do the DMP with Payplan. My last loans with HSBC and M&S I declined the PPI and by then I think the companies knew they were wrong to offer them to me as I had a very good works scheme incase of death or illness that would have covered the payback.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

Morning folks
Flying past but just wanted to send hug and shout 'please don't leave us Ted'. You were my lifeline and lurve the humour, as you say keeps us going.
I think the thread needs to be inclusive and even if people don't get the opportunity or choose to post less often it's always good to hear how everyone is doing and share some support around.
Found approved foods the online discount site, anyone tried it?
Have a good day all.

Hi HH,
agree with you re the thread, if I was new and looking through them I would assume it was for 2010 only. That said I'm not sure I'll be on here that much, don't feel like I belong anymore but do appreciate your acknowledgement of my posts when I pop by. I think there is a limit to the number of posts and then you have to start a new thread, not sure what the limit is though. I'm with you on feeling tons better than last year but still feel trapped by it and I've been thinking about the 'other side' too or at least sorting out some F & Fs for the smaller amounts. I always seem to be joking about Aldi and Alton towers on here but humour is my only way through it. It was Oblivion by the way at Alton towers, PDD called it the Incorporator last summer and it kind of stuck and still makes me smile. Glad of the good weather, can do more with the kids for the price of an ice lolly
Hope you have a good Easter. (Sainsbury have buy one medium egg get TWO free by the way....:j...)
Hi Gabriella, sounds like you're starting to fight back, go girl!
Gibbs, same here re PPi, am going to check mine out.
Hope you all have a good Easter weekend,
Ted x
Ted you 'sound' a bit down in the dumps.
I've been lurking on the 'other' side too, trouble is most of debt is after the all important date, but what I'm thinking of doing is stopping the DMP and asking them all to see my agreement, meanwhile stashing the DMP cash in the hope of offering a F&F to those which prove to be enforceable.
I'm really struggling with my DMP and it's all feeling like a big uphill struggle at the moment.
But please don't leave us ...0 -

Hi to everybody, hope you all have a good Easter weekend and thanks for the laughs and support over the past year.

Don't you DARE leave us Teds. Of course you belong and your humour is always welcome. You would only force me to hire a detective with the last of my money so I could find you and slap some sense into you!!! You are staying here and that is the end of the argument. I shall miss you if you don't come here like clockwork. Who else is going to make us feel wanted by saying thanks? Hmmmmmmmmmm? Who? Bad Teds. Bad Teds. What are we all referring to when we talk to the "other side". I am also down in the dumps in a way because I am going to have to reduce my payments so much but I'm not stopping the DMP - that's for sure. Its my only lifeline at the moment to keep the hounds away. I don't have any money for F & F so I have to persevere.
I am almost tempted to try F & F negotiations even though I have no money to find out what would be acceptable and then maybe bite the bullet and see if my parents can lend me it and I can then pay them back?? I keep running this through my mind but I just have to wait and see.
Please don't give up people. That's what we are all here for. To support and care for each other. Don't leeeeaaaavvvvveee meeee *sob*_pale_Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Obviously Barclaycard, M&S and John Lewis send me statements every month, so I can see what I still owe on the cards. After a year of DMP should HSBC and M&S loans send me details of how much is still outstanding or would I need to ask them?
Found I was paying £14 a month PPI on my M&S card. So will look to fill in the template letter and see if I can get that back. Last two loans I declined the PPI so I think I may have missed the boat on the earlier loans that were paid back. Paperwork for one showed over £2000 paid out for PPI :eek:Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hi everyone
Needs some help
Just received a letter from Moorcroft Debt Recovery who have taken over my debt of £200 from NEXT. The letter states it is an INTENDED LITIGATION. Payment in full must be made in 7 days or by 26/4/11.
I have rang Moorcroft who were very vague.
They informed me that NEXT no longer accepted the DMP payment and have passed it on to Moorcroft to recover. I have informed them that I am with CCCS and gave her my ref number. I asked her what happens next and again quite vague but she said they may accept payment or go to court. Not very clear need to speak with CCCS on Tuesday. She informed me that they have not bought the debt but are just acting on behalf of NEXT. I did tell them that the amount due on the letter was wrong and I disputed the balance but she did not seem to bothered she said I would need to write to them about the disputed payments and prove I have paid.
Think I will drop them a letter to support the call and contact CCCS.
If they want to take me to court for £200 so be it, but I am a bit worried.
Anyone had similar experience with Moorcroft?Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j
