  • Hello Just a quick update.
Today sorted out the OH DMP. Have put together his SOA and printed off all the letters and put in envelopes. We also added a line that he gives permission for me to talk to them about the account as he is at work such long hours they are always shut when he tries to call. My debts are to be sorted this week. On my calculator it works out that he is £8267.71.
On a good note I may be getting some extra work which means that it might make life a little easier and means I can put some money away and try the F & F route on some of the smaller ones. Anyone have any joy with Barclaycard on this as that is only £125.00

    Hi everyone

I'm also popping in for a quick update. Thanks for the kind throughts by the way Gabriella.

I had a lovely weekend while the sun was shining and went to a very uplifting event yesterday evening. I feel more positive today, even though I know so far nothing has changed.

On a plus side it looks like I may have made a new friend. I hope she doesn't expect me to spend any money!!!!

Am going to take the next few weeks to sort out my new SOA after which I will see where I stand. I got the money I needed for this month so at least I was able to sigh a breath of relief. If I need some advice .... don't worry, I will definitely ask.

    Take care to all xx

  • Hi all,

Glad to see everyone has loads of good advice for those of us feeling the squeeze at the moment - mephisa and mikon hang on in there!!!!

We've been enjoying the fact were off on half term at the mo so not putting money in the cars and walking everywhere instead - thank god for the nice weather - lets hope it lasts??

Thinking of getting a new (2nd hand car) - have been looking at renault scenics so we can get our camping gear in it. Anyone know if they're any good?

Also got letter today from cccs asking us to do a review - we only set up in november - thought these were annual?? bit scared, like people on here as to what to say to them?? Hoping that the money we are saving on the mortgage (£100) kinda balances out the fuel and domestic bills that have all gone up, so should be able to keep same payment each month...at least for now.

    Stay strong folks,

  • Hi

Can anyone help with credit report questions please?

I'm just coming upto a one year anniversary of being on a DMP and have checked my credit file with Equifax. I have 3 defaults registered in July 2010 (these are with companies who accepted DMP and gave me 0% interest. There is no history provided after July. Is this usual?

I think I read somewhere that you can only be defaulted once per account, is that correct or could they slap another on me at the end of my DMP?

Five accounts are marked "up to date."

Two accounts even though state am on a DMP (have never missed a payment) have marked "in arrears". Another two accounts are marked "arrangement to pay". I noticed a statement at the bottom of the page that states "The information will stay on your Credit Report for 6 years from the date the account was ended." Does this mean that even if the defaults were to 'fall off' in 2016 these "arrears" and "AP" will be on my account until 2020?

I would like to get a car and move house post DMP so would be keen to know. Helps to keep me going!

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thank you.

Sazzle - Hi glad you've go the Soa sorted and letters ready to go you seem well prepared.

Moneymuppets - Hi haven't a clue about scenics the only thing i had heard was that renaults spares can be costly but might be wrong. don't worry about your CCCS review just have all your figures ready to go before you call them. I prinited off my old budget and a new budet sheet and marked everything up.Hope it goesok for you.

HH - With regards to credit files i am 99.9 % sure they can only ever issue you 1 default, it is illegal for them to put another on. i also have Arrangement to Pays (AP's) on my file and i think they are almost like a default. I'm also sure that anything can only stay on your file for 6 years and drops off. I keep gettng alerts saying a enquiry tat was done 6 ys agao has been removed etc.

Not sure about the companys where the default has been issued in July and now no activity, have these accounts gone to DCA's it may be the reason?

You could always post on the main board i know they have a expert wo works for experian/equifax who could answer for you, i also would be interested.

ANyways dinner time here, hang in there all.

If they say they can't, then just take the extra payment back off them again!! Say you can't afford it because it is of no benefit to you or them unless it is actually paying off more and would be better off going towards an essential bill ie. oil/gas or petrol.

Hi, I'm new to this thread so I will introduce myself.

DH and I have approx £34,000 debt split between 14 creditors. I have lost my job and DH's overtime has been stopped. We are doing our own self managed plan, started last month. Out of the 14 creditors, 5 have accepted, 6 are considering it and 3 have refused pro rata offer.

We should getting a compensation claim in the next 3 months which should pay off all of debt at full amount owed. I have been reading about these f&f offers and wonder if I should try and negotiate a settlement. Part of me feels that since we ran up the debts that we should pay them back at 100% of amount owed, but then again we could save money.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi All

I'm new to this thread. I originally started my DMP in 2009 but it was suspended due to not being able to carry on payments in Dec 2010.

Thankfully, it's starting up again on 1st May 2011 and although I'm only paying £61.00 per month with approx £18,100 outstanding but hoping to increase that in time.

Good Luck to all those "travelling along the same road" :)
    DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
