  • Update on the Fand F soap opera, have offered £1400 on a £4.7K debt with MBNA they want £1900 and won't budge, which is slightly too high for me, so could be some mind games going on for the next few weeks. PP

    Hi

I don't know whether this is relevant to the Charging off thingy but I checked my credit file and one of my debts was marked settled when it plainly isn't. Santander overdraft.

Don't know, might be worth posing this question on the main board?

Have done lots and lots of research re. F and Fs, apart from MBNA who love them, most other creditors are hit and miss, so as with most things related to DMPs it's difficult to predict anything. PP

Just got off the phone to Opus (were CITI), they have accepted £600 as a F and F for £2.6k, good grief, incredible, etc, etc.
    Thats 23%!!!!
So they accepted 23% and MBNA accepted 38%. So have gone from £56k last April to less than £40k now, hope for us all here??

    Hi all,
Gosh were to start it seems like a Mikon and Mephitsa have been having a tough time of it, after reading through,Mikon you seemed to have regained your confidence and your going to tackle some of your smaller debts with F&F's. i think it would be a real boost to you and maybe alleviate some worry. With living costs increasing and you possibly struggling speak to the CCCS they can only say no but you do have to live.

Mephitsa oh lovely one a good idea i think if you do post your SOA many heads in our case are better than one. Try and stay strong, my mum often goes through peaks and troughs in her work but something always turns up although its not good for th grey hairs. Although we are all in this temporary pickle things happen for a reason and things will always get better (promise)

Wecome Snazzle hope your gettign to grips with the start of your dmp any questions fire away.

Hi PPP, HH, teds,E2 and all.

Had a ball back in the UK was spoilt by family and friends. It was liberating to go shopping with bday pressie cash and vouchers and no credit card!:T Although i could have saved the cash i haven't been shoppign since last June so sod it was my 30th bday!

Good news for you PPP i need to get saving and plop a cheeky offer into MBNA have you done it all in writing or verbally? i also hae about 4.5 sitting on one card interest frozen at the mo.

Well take care all, sending you some positive vibes and remember -

THEY CAN'T HAVE WHAT YOU HAVEN'T GOT!!!

    Hi everyone

Need some advice off you all.

I have decided to reduce my monthly payments to CCCS so I am going to ring them on Monday to start discussions I cannot continue struggling from month to month. So I am going to reduce the payments to the creditors and you know what if they apply interest again then so be it but at least I will be able to survive from month to month. I also want to get rid of my smaller debts so I am going to make F & F offers to 3 of the smallest creditors.

What i want to know is should i make the F & F offers before the review or wait until after the review. If i wait until after I just wonder if the small creditors may kick off and say I had money to make F & Fs if you know what I mean.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Going to make the call on Monday to CCCS .

    Mikon

  • Hi Gabriella, bit of both really, started in writing but did MBNA on the phone. The Opus one (20%) was just a cheely offer and tbh I'd forgotten about it then a few weeks later they wrote and accepted.
You have to be very careful re. wording, best thing to do is google Full and Final settlement and investigate. PP
