It's the second one I've had, I had one way back when I only just started DMP from Crapone, offering something similar. Gives hope if anyones thinking of F&F offers nearer the end.

I just ignore it, they can't do anything even if they do come. There is a letter you can send telling them as much but I've never bothered sending one because .... In the early days CrapOne did send someone - he was actually really nice about it, I told him DMP CCCS and he basically said 'okay'. Was still shaking when I shut the door though!!!0 -
The letter to send is post number 4101 by Mikon, its worth sending just so they know you know your rights.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Welcome Moneymuppets and join our happy clan! Its amazing how many of us are in this position and also how many of us feel that once we are clear the amount of disposable income we have would make us comfortably off!! Why oh why did I start using cards ... oh I know! I'm human ..... or maybe not.
Anyway hi to all. Contacted a savings plan I had and cancelled it so hopefully in a months time I will be £300 quid richer and also £27 quid richer each month. I'm going to use the money to pay off the little slip on my Debehams card I had at Christmas and the rest will go off my Halifax card - that will only leave about £200 on it to clear. After that I will only have to concentrate on my biggies so I suppose that's one little light at the end of the tunnel.
Hope you are all doing well - particularly Eyeopener, Ted and of course Gabriella who started this rotten journey around the same time as me!! As always guys - your support is invaluable.:oDebt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Panic, Alarm, sinking feeling and feeling sick some of the feelings i felt when i opened the mail today. HFC sent me what I think is a default notice. It states that the outstanding balance has to be paid by 19 Jan 2011 or they may take me to court alot of legal wording finished off by you need to seek legal advice do not ignore this letter. The letter also included a OFT leaflet stating DEFAULT NOTICE what to do. I panicked and thought this sound like they are going to take me to court. I have a letter from them agreeing reduced payments etc and an annual review.
I have contacted CCCS who inform me that this letter is computer generated and not to worry just file and forget but the letter is strongly worde. CCCS said they will contact HFC and send a review letter on Monday in relation to this default notice.
Has anyone one else received a default notice and what did you do?
Did you speak to the creditor direct are let CCCS deal with it.
I am a little worried I know the letter does contain a lot of mays.
Any advice much appreciated.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

Hi Mikon
I've had aquite a few of these. In fact Santander have issued me with 3 all for the same account.
I've now been defaulted on all 10 debts and it hasn't made the slightest difference to my DMP.
I believe, although as always I can be corrected, that a creditor defaults you as a procedural thing. Basically if they want to send you to a DCA or even take you to court in the future they HAVE to issue a default notice first.
I haven't informed CCCS of any of mine, i just keep them filed away in my ever expanding DMP box.
Stop worrying my friend. If things are escalated then you/we deal with it Until that time, its a piece of paper and a note on your credit file (thats ruined anyway).I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Eyeopener 2
Thank you for putting my mind at rest.
This is the first one I received and it is quite frightening when you receive it especially on a friday evening. What a way to start the weekend.
Well I guess I should just file & forget.
ThanksMikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

Mikon - Eyeopeners right, don't panic just file it and look on the bright side - the sooner they default you the better!0

Just seen on the other thread how much the debt is for and I doubt they'll take you to court for that amount, it would cost them too much.0

hallelujah we have water after 15 days
it just came back on, no dribbling, dripping or sputtering just full on water. fabulous
Mikon I wallpaper the downstairs loo with defaults, have quite a collection in there, they are as Eyeopener says just a procedure, the quicker they default you, the quicker it will drop off your credit file, 6 years in England I believe.
Hope everybody has a good January, its always a pig of a month and its a year since a lot of us started this journey, I'm definitely in a better place and I hope you all too.More than Two Years in
