  • just a question, my first DMP payment is on the 1st of August, how do i check if payments are made to each of creditors? is there a place on the DMP website i can check or do i just wait for normal statements from creditors to come in?

If you are with Payplan they do a fab thing called Justabank which is superb, tells you all about your payments, schedule, etc.
Not sure about the CCCS though? PP

Hi There, I have completed and submitted the CCCS debt remedy on line over the weekend but I have a CC payment due today. Do I now send off a letter with a token payment explaining my situation or do I wait until I have spoken to CCCS?

    Thanks
    Ellie

Try this, I used it very successfully, as did a few of my peers on here. In addition to this I called each creditor and explained the situation, quoting my Payplan ref. and was very firm with them. PP

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account number:

Since making the above mentioned agreement with you my circumstances have changed.

I do want to repay my debts but at the present time I am not in the position to pay the minimum monthly payments. I have recently joined Payplan who offer a non fee-charging debt management plan, which I hope to start on May 1st. (ID no: ********)

In the interim month or so I shall make a token monthly payment(s) of £** as a sign of good faith. As soon as I have updated my situation and the Debt management plan is fully set up I / Payplan will contact you again.

As other people answer the telephone who are not aware of my situation, ie, my children. I would ask that all correspondence between us should be in writing.

I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.

    Yours faithfully

    Hello All

Just checking into DMP land. things have gone quiet but have the odd letter of default and DCA. I had a lovely weekend away at the family caravan, so nice and cheap! was dreading coming home to some letters but there werent any! Think I am still paranoid about it all!

glad to see everyone is doing okay, apart from the odd upset.

good luck to everyone with the summer hols looming, i dont have any kids (yet!) and I admire you all for surviving such long hols!

welcome to all the newbies, i feel old skool now lol (i have only been on here 3 months and getting a bit complacent now lol)

i love being able to smile again, forgot what that felt like!

Thanks Professor Pat, I will use that letter.

And thanks to you Regret, those are types of posts that are keeping me focused - just seeing that people are glad that they have gone done the DMP route is my inspiration. I have struggled along for so long and feel so guilty about what I am doing that I just keep reading through these threads to keep me positive

    Thanks again

I can assure you Ellie, you wont be the first or last person to feel like that. I have been the lowest i have ever been before setting up my DMP, I have had sleepless nights, palpitations, panic attacks, you name it. But the relief of seeing last months payment actually deduct from the total of my debts!

I can honestly say that without the kindness of people on here I dont know where I would be, and it doesnt bear thinking about. and im not just saying it, I geniunely will be thankful to everyone on here for the rest of my life as they have helped me see sense and get my life back, in a time when i had no where else to go.

keep your chin up Ellie, you are one day closer to being debt free! :T:T:T

  • Hi
Hi I am new to these boards

I have had the lightbulb moment and yesterday spoken to the CCCS about setting up a DMP. I felt yesterday that a massive load had been lifted from my shoulders. Big problem today though. We have a joint account with Natwest with a £3,200 overdraft. I also have a personal account with an overdraft and a credit card. My H has a overdraft, business account and credit card with them. The dmp is being done on my debts only and in my name and on my income only. This is v important as my husband needs credit for his business.

CCCS have today said that the joint account od needs to be included in the dmp. I am going to try and have husbands name removed from that account but if that doesnt work he either gets mentioned in the dmp so risks default notices (which can't happen) or I don't go ahead with the dmp which puts me in real trouble.

Yesterday I felt so positive but today I have spent the day in work close to tears. I don't know how to get out of this.:wall:

Hi ljm23k, how's the Summer hols going? We break up this week and this where I learn to be more creative, 2 teenagers and a strict budget for 6 weeks.! Intend to walk a lot and invite their friends over a lot for sleep overs as that's cheap (although noisy too so will have to invest in ear plugs)plus have Alton Towers half price vouchers :j

Summer hols going smoothly with lots of free days out to the park with a picnic, oh the joys of them only being 8, 6 and 4. :rotfl:Hopefully DFD will arrive before the teenage years!

I am also being dragged kicking and screaming to camp in a TENT :eek::eek: this weekend, NOT my kind of thing:rotfl:caravan? OK, B&B? better, luxury self catering cottage by the sea? Oh yes!! Roll on DFD!!

I just got my review letter today (bah, humbug!) but at least this phone phobic has been given an email option!

:eek: Oh no, not a real tent??? I'm with you on that one, much rather a cottage with a sea view, with it's own bathroom!! Still, at least your kiddies will enjoy the adventure :) and think of the pennies saved :A

    Well said Regret:)

You lot with kids are troopers. Some of my dmp is made up of failed IVFs but I don't have kids so admire that you are working that challenge into the dmp. I like the add more not take away techniques. My folks were faily skint as I was growing up but we went campling and had plenty of free and low cost days out, often more than my more affluent friends.

RBS have also terminated me and are to stop interest next month so that's 6 onboard and 6 preditors to go.

Have a good evening all xx
