Hiya Nitty
CCCS didn't really contact me to be honest, the creditors responded (or some did) pretty quickly once I had sent the letter CCCS provided with a £1 token payment.
I'm only in month two here and some have been dificult, some fantastic and some haven't really said much.
MBNA were first off the block saying no problem, DMP is fine as is 0% interest
Barclaycard didn't respond just sent the normal statements with zero interest
Tesco Loan phoned a few times but came on board once the first payment was received as did Santander Loans and Credit Card
The Pay Day Loan companys have been ok barring one who didn't want to know until this last week
Last but not least Santander current account i've heard nowt and they continue to pile on charges but i'm hoping now that i have made two payments and written a begging letter that they will come onboard as well.
its a wating game really, just sit tight and see what responses you get. CCCS will just say keep paying and things will sort themselves out. if you want to be a bit more proactive like Mikon then contact all your creditors and see what the situation is.

Does little dance and hope I don't jinx it. Just had my Co-op statement and despite having to fork out £50 to replace the stolen front wheel last month, I was £62 in credit from the last time my pay went in. My pay is fixed amount monthly so no extra that way. Hope I can do better this month, as it makes not having CCs feel good.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

will wait till after first payment to see how things pan out with them(creditors)
Hi Nitty I started my DMP with CCCS on 1 April. CCCS didnt contact me to say if creditors had accepted or not. I just heard from them direct. Got letters from 3 cap1, Virgin and NRock quite quickly from when CCCS sent letters accepting. BCard rang me at work:eek: once they hadnt received my monthly payment. I just informed them I was with CCCS and my ref no. There next statement had agreed amount as min payment but still charging interest altho at 3%. Last one Halifax they just sent me the next statement with agreed CCCS amount and zero interest altho they have now started charging interest.
Hope this helps0 -

Hi Everyone, I have this morning taken a huge step (for me) and submitted all my details to the CCCS website so that I can go onto a DMP. I have many people on this forum to thank for helping me to come to this decision and although right now I am absolutely terrified of what is going to happen to us, it has been the right decision. For the last 2 years we have lived off CC's as my husbands business has not been doing well and these have spiralled out of control until we have no more credit available to us.
This site keeps me sane and stops me thinking of ways to end it all
Could I have a paddle number please as I think that I am going to be here for a very long time
Right off to the bank for a basic account... why am I embarassed?Debt Free 1st March 2017

Hi and welcome onboard the goodship DMP.
Its gonna be scary, its gonna be frustrating but you will ask yourself why you didn't do it years ago. You will get grief, we all have, but it will settle down just don't allow yourself to bullied and try and keep a clear head.
I wouldn't be embarrassed about a basic bank account. Its just a bank account without all the things you don't really need like an overdraft.
Take it easy and just think that one day you will be Debt Free.

Hi I have just authorised CCCS to go ahead with my DMP and waiting the form to do my DD details for first payment. Unfortunately I got a letter from Mercer debt agency on behalf of Barclaycard saying that I was 3 months in arrears and they would send a debt collector around. So after they said that they wouldn't listen to CCCS DMP proposals, I agree to pay £65 a month until I CCCS get in touch with Barclaycard. I am now worried I've messed it up as I've heard that once you're in an agreement with them CCCS won't help. I haven't sent any money off. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for reading, I'm in such a state about it all.0

Send Barclaycard £1-00 as a token payment and tell them your working with CCCS to resolve your debt problems. Then see what Barclaycard say when CCCS contact them. Write to Mercers saying your setting up a DMP with CCCS and they will (or should) suspend collection duties for a month. Don't pay them (mercers) anything and if your at all unsure ring CCCS on Monday morning and ask them what you should do.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Others will know better than me, but I think the magic word is you "haven't sent any thing off yet". Most of us sent token payments of £1 and included a letter saying we were entering into a DMP. You are right the letter was a scare  tactic and granted it does feel frightening to ignore it, but try. Call CCCS before sending any money and hopefully they will advise you to send the token payment while they set you up.
Others will be along shortly with more advice.Paddle No 21 :wave:0
