    Well

After much a***ing about it seems that PDUK or to be precise the debt collecting arm of PDUK have fallen into line and accepted that this stone has no blood to give. They have gone from sending me demanding emails and me replying with boring facts like CCCS, DMP, no money to just replying with one liners saying (begrudgingly) that my payments are being applied to my account.

This may come back to bite me but its looking good, just Santander current account to go now and all creditors will be behaving.

Statement came from Barclaycard today with no interest added and my pityfully small payment applied so at least its going down.

All in all not a bad old DMP day.

Well done E2.I'll be coming over for tips. After an initially good start I still have only half Preditors on board. Time to write some letters this weekend I think.

    Have a good day all

For me I only have Barclaycard and they will ring and ring and ring but I wrote to them via the online thingy and it did stop.

Expect a lot of calls, a lot of post and some grief at first but just be calm, be strong and just repeat the following

I'm on a DMP with CCCS
    my Reference number is XXXXXXX
I cannot pay you anymore than that
yes I know my credit rating will be smashed but I don't want anymore credit

Most of all though remember through all this that whatever they, the creditors, throw at you you have done the right thing.

    Good luck

Welcome aboard, I am with Barclaycard and they are the only ones who did not stop interest with mine, just reduced the amount. Others on here have been luckier, not sure how they work out who they freeze and who they just reduce.

Will mention this as you don't say if you have or not???

Did you change your bank if you have a debt with them that you want to put that debt on the DMP.

    Hi

Well done to facing up to the problem and that is the first step. The next couple of months may be a bumpy ride. But if you stick with the following statement when creditors ring you then you should be ok "You cannot have what I have not got and CCCS are now dealing with my financial matters"

I have your first 4 as creditors and to be honest I have had very little hassle from them. Barclaycard accepted and stopped interest, Argos accepted and reduced interest the other 2 Barclays refused the offer CCCS made but I am paying them the offered monies and they have agreed to refund all charges and interest to me as long as the unagreed monthly payment is made.

Whilst you can seek advice from others on this forum and i can speak from experience this is a great place and the people on here will support you through the good times and the bad times, you can never go off their experiences with creditors as each of us as you will have read have had different experiences and different levels of hassle.

I wrote to all my creditors asking them to remove my telephone number from my accounts and to be honest all of the ones mentioned above adhered to my request. I will add that I am expecting Barclays to hand the debts off to either their inhouse recovery team or an external DCA. In the interim I will continue to make the payments that i offered and see what each day brings. But I like you have faced up to my problems and are addressing them and that alone is a major step forward. I would also add that if you have a partner I would make him/her aware of the DMP a problem shared is a problem halved.

Good Luck and I hope your journey to becoming Debt Free is an easy one. Remember we are here for your darker days and to offer you advice.

    Professor Pat Pending.

Update on Shiti. Received letter yesterday informing me that no further interest or charges will be applied to my account. No time frame given but thank you shiti. It was a long and hard battle but i am thankful it is over. Now it is wait and see what happens next I do not want to underestimate what they can do next but i will continue to make the monthly payments. If nothing else I now have a full and comprehensive understanding of the Lending Code of Practice.

Thank you PPP for hanging in there with me.

hi all , is there anything you can do like any templates to send creditors asking them to stop intrest n charges, i mean is there anything we can do, if they refuse to stop intrest,? is there any law on our side that can maybe force them to stop, i know its not likely as we have broken the terms etc,

aslo what is the Lending Code of Practice? does that help in anyway with getting charges reduced or stopped maybe?
