Thanks HH, I'm hanging on in there, it's just hard with kids that want everything. But I do know I'm doing the right thing in the long run.

Re the slow cooker, never knew you could put full chickens in!!! See how much I know? :o How long does that take do you know?

Off to have a look at the other thread now.

Hi I know what you mean about kids wanting everything its hard saying no. I have started giving my DS pocket money each month £10 seems a lot but its working out a lot cheaper once you add up all the extras I end up buying him. He knows once its gone he has to wait till next month. So he is learning a bit of money management too (wish someone had taught me) I have a slow cooker too havent used it much during summer but its never off over winter. Chickens are lovely I just put a bit of water at the bottom with a stock cube and put it on low first thing on a morning and its ready about tea time. As you take it out you will find the bones just fall away so there is no waste put it on med or high if you want to eat at lunchtime.

Hi There, I have completed and submitted the CCCS debt remedy on line over the weekend but I have a CC payment due today. Do I now send off a letter with a token payment explaining my situation or do I wait until I have spoken to CCCS?

    Thanks

    Hi Ellie

Welcome aboard. Most of us sent tokens, some longer than others. I wish I had held my nerve in some ways and done tokens for 2 or 3 months so I could get an emergency fund together.. I did one month tokens but the dmp gremlin snook in and my fund was swallowed up in garage bills, grrrrr. Never mind hopefully this way my dfd may be a month or two closer.

There are loadsa templates on the thread. Also plenty on national debtline website.

Good luck with your start up.

I got everything sent off today. Letters sent to all 17 creditors. Took me all day, but it's a relief knowing I've finally started the first step. Had a letter from Very, saying they were concerned that my payment was short. I have written back thanking them for their concern and reiterating what I wrote to them on the 1st July, that I was entering into a DMP with CCCS and would be making token payments in the interim period. Though why they'll read it this time, when they didn't read it the first time is a wonder to me. I'm hoping that because it's so late in the month my DMP wont start on the 1st August, but on 1st September, though I have the money put by for the August payment, I wanted to save a bit more for the emergancy fund.

If you are with CCCS you will be given access to their online site where you can check your account. I also received a statement through the post.

Do not worry you can check everything online once CCCS send you your password.

Well the DMP Rollercoaster is heading downwards after a few weeks of peace I received a statement from Next which does not have any payments on. Contacted NEXT and they state they have not received any payments. Need to contact CCCS tomorrow to see what is going on as all the statements show that the monthly payments have been sent and the correct account number has been used. They have also put charges on the account which they agreed they would not.

Anyone else had any bad experiences with NEXT please let me know if they have been similar to mine.

    Hi everybody

I am still getting phonecalls from Santander, I assume about my current account, but i'm not answering them yet. I'm not sure how many more times I can say DMP. Three letters already to the bank account bit of Santander, the Credit card arm accepted (they still send arrears letters though), the loan arm accepted but the bank account arm don't seem to want to bother.

Not sure what to do now about this. Do I wait and see what reaction is when the second payment hits the account on Monday? Or answer the phone and explain the situation yet again without being argumentative?

No idea at the moment, I thought once PDUK calmed down that would be the end of hassle, seems not.

    Ho hum

    Hi Mikon,

The same thing happened to me. It took a couple of months for the payments to settle. What was happening was the first payment didn't reach them by the due date so they cancelled the payment plan. Eventually they started applying the payment on the 24th towards the next month. Theres little point in calling them either :wall:
