You lot with kids are troopers. Some of my dmp is made up of failed IVFs but I don't have kids so admire that you are working that challenge into the dmp. I like the add more not take away techniques. My folks were faily skint as I was growing up but we went campling and had plenty of free and low cost days out, often more than my more affluent friends.
RBS have also terminated me and are to stop interest next month so that's 6 onboard and 6 preditors to go.
Have a good evening all xx
hi hope,
have you left it all to CCCS to contact creditors about stopping intrest or have you sent a few template letters off to them? if so i dont suppose you have a link:) or something along the lines of what to say, i know they dont have to agree, but its worth a try i guess
p.s glad 6 have stopped fingers crossed for the other 6:)0 -

A piece of advice in the early days when setting up a DMP is to ensure you keep your creditors informed of what is happening. Professor Pat Pending advised me to do this when I first started and to be honest it worked my creditors now write to me and I respond in writing but digitally sign all letters. It's important that you keep your creditors up to date. Do not ignore them. The majority 8 out of 10 creditors have accepted 9 out of the 10 have stopped interest and the other one has written to me to say that interest will be applied until they pass it over to their Debt Recovery Team and they will then refund the interest.
I am now into my 2nd month and things are starting to settle down.
If you have problems with creditors refusing to stop interest it is worth writing to them and reminding them of the Lending Code which banks, CC subscribe too. See link Section 9 para 144

So to all those embarking on a DMP its not easy but it is easier than robbing Peter to pay Paul every month and it is tough at the beginning I can vouch for that and you will have low points but that is why we are here. Others on this forum will vouch for that I think a number of people on here were worried about me at one point , but I have grown stronger and wiser over the past 3 months and it is the best thing I ever did.

Hi Mikon,
The same thing happened to me. It took a couple of months for the payments to settle. What was happening was the first payment didn't reach them by the due date so they cancelled the payment plan. Eventually they started applying the payment on the 24th towards the next month. Theres little point in calling them either :wall:

I have spoken to NEXT today and they informed me that they have found the payment from CCCS. They are resetting the plan and sending me a letter to confirm receipt of payment.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

Certainly not, once you have made your first DMP payment that is it for tokens. Your DMP monthly amount is the sum you can afford to service your debts, if you pay tokens on top the creditors could ask why can't you pay more? PPLBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Morning all, we actually have sunshine today :j, its quite a rarity here.
LJM, I went camping for the first time ever last weekend and it wasnt so bad, I actually enjoyed it which really surprised me, it was very relaxing. Think you have to go with the attitude it is what it is and just relax and enjoy it. Where are you planning to go?
DS is at YMCA this week and is really enjoying it, so far has been on an adventure walk up the mountain, bouldering and today is going canoeing, comes home every day wet dirty smelly and very very happy, so so glad I decided to send him, if you remember I had a bit of a guilt trip before booking, but it has been totally worth it and he has had a tough wee year with one thing and another so he deserved it.
Must go tidy up then take DD and her friend to the park.
Enjoy the weather everyone.LBM - March 2010Paddle no. 15 :j0 -

Thanks NG. I sent initial letters to the Preditors at the start of the DMP. CCCS have on the whole been very good but I do rather get the impression that they will not pursue creditors until 3 DMP payments have been made. As my third payment is to CCCS at the end of the week I thought I would have another try with the Preditors. I think Mikon has given you some good advice and links there. Mikon has certainly made very good progress at getting them on board to stop interest early on.NittyGritty and everyone else

Good news from me, Postie has just been. Mint have accepted DMP and will freeze interest from next month. So that's 7 onboard, 5 more to go.
Hope the good news vibes are contagious and everyone has a stroke of luck today

Hi all old and newbies.
Things just ticking along here for me now. Well this week the CCCS will be paying my 6th payment it feels good!!
I am slightly worried about old habits creeping back though. I had my 1st full paycheck today not right again but the taxman will sort that out soon i hope.
As i said not wanting old habits to creap in, i desparetly want to go on a shopping splurge as the money is the bank, but now it is real money!!AHAHAaHH. ANy ideas how to remove the urge. so far i've not gone anywhere after work, done housework, walked the dog but surfed the net lusting for things. I need to work out a way to save as much as i can to my next payday and then pay off the debt instead.
Sorry for ramblings just struggling mentally today that i have been a absolute tit and would have money to save if i hadn't racked up so much debt on pointless carp!!
Bye for now, tea and cake i think! x0
