Well, in the welcome pack you get a template letter to send to your creditors notifying them of the dmp being set up and you also should send a token payment of £1 each(yes, £1!!!) until the start date. You can set the start date to suit, so if you have an few months ahead of irregular income etc, you can pay tokens for a few months, otherwise, the sooner you send back the statements, the sooner you will be up and running. You don't have to wait for your creditors to accept or decline, CCCS will send them the payment anyway. If you act fast, you could send tokens for July and be ready to start on August 1st. You can make the first payment to CCCS at the post office, if you don't get you DD set up in time. You also have the option of paying on the 1st or 10th of the month.
hi again, what happens if any of the creditors dont accept the offers? what will happen then or what r my options, do u continue with paying the plan? if not wot options are open to me if they dont budge0 -
Hi everyone, my husband has a DMP it is with a company who charge but he started it before we looked on this site and we hadn't heard of the companies who do them for free he's just left it with this company because he was very stressed by it all whilst it was being sorted and since it was now running smoothly he thought this was best, but today another part of the same company has telephoned him and asked him if he had thought about IVA they said all of his debts would be paid in 5 years and his credit rating would be clear in 6 years he's now unsure of what it would be best to do and also the debt managment company have telephoned today to say that they need to go through his income and expenditure with him again in order to rearrangwe his payments with his creditors does this usually happen thanks for any help20p savers club 2013#23 83.00 (2014 numer 6,70.00 pounds) 2036SPC No 6(2013) 182.34

Some may not accept the offers but you will find they settle down after a while. After all, they are getting something from you and if you stick to the CCCS agreement you should be ok.
However a creditor may play silly beggers, they may be difficult, they may continue to add interest but the main thing is you need to set up your DMP, get up and running. As the problems occur (which they will) pop on here for support and advice or ring CCCS.
You will be fine, its a rollercoaster, as Mikon says, but its a damn sight better than worrying yourself sick about ALL your creditors and how your going to pay them month after month after month. Robbing Peter to pay Paul and finding Paul has nothing anymore.
I've got on annoying creditor and also one stupid one who cant read letters or understand phonecalls but i'm sure that now they have received the first payment they will behave. If they don't, well,Iwill deal with them as and when.
I'm past caring, the worst they can do is take me to court and i will deal with that if it ever happens. Most have been great, suprisingly good actually, so don't worry yourself too much about what MIGHT happen.
You will be fineI'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Thanks for the welcome Ted
It feels refreshing to be in the midst of people who know what each other is going through! Had a bad day yesterday where everything got on top of me, and had a little cry about what an absolute !!!!!! I've been! Better day today, I confessed to my nan that I'm in debt, dont feel up to telling the parents yet but I definately will do.
I'll be calling payplan today at lunch to get everything sorted out with them and make sure I know everything I've got to do. I have a close friend who is also on a dmp and been helpful, It'll be good to have her there to reassure me etc!
Hope everyone is having a good day today, and in the wise words of Yazz......"The only way is up!"Paddle number 32:A

:mad::mad:I have been trying to get online all day, internet connection giving trouble now I'm scared to turn it off!:rotfl:
I actually had to do some housework to fill the space in my life left by homeschool being over for summer and no internet!:rotfl:
I have a feeling we won't be taking 9 weeks off, I'm all twitchy already and we only finished at the start of the week.
Anyway, I had a bad experience with halifax. I typed it all up last night but internet went down and I lost it so, long story short, even though my statement says estimated interest next month £0, they are actually charging me 12% per annum as I am paying too much per month to get it frozen?????:mad::mad:Paddle no. 12

Hey ljm23k, do you remember a while back I had computer problems and apart from it being a nightmare, I remember thinking, oh Yes, housework, ironing Zzzzz. Think that twitchy feeling is common when you take a break, your head knows you're on hol and your boby is still set to keep going. Hope you get into slow, relax mode and the weather stays good for you!
:mad::mad: re Halifax, how mad is that? What are you supposed to do, pay less? Crackers!!!
That exactly what they suggested!!! Pay less for 3 months instead of being on a one year plan. I assume after 3 months it would to a dca. They implied they are being nice by not defaulting me but I told them I had the default notice from them in my hand, then they said it had been put on my credit file yet????? I told them I couldn't change the payment amount, cccs would have to decide so what now?? I don't really care today so I will sort it out some day when I do care!:rotfl:Paddle no. 12
