thanks mike
i think its all just getting a bit much now. i get paid on wednesday but still feel like i will have no money even when i get paid. i guess on the bright side i dont have to worry about paying creditors now- just my normal bills :$
I think we will all get there eventually but without this site i dont know where i would be now!LBM- may2010:A0 -
Guys, CCCS send everything electronically, so any creditors who says they didn't get it is telling a wee porkie. What that really means is that they haven't progressed it in their system and are just blaming CCCS for their own incompetance. I have had only a couple of acceptance letters (out of 22 creditors) but they have all accepted. I think some creditors just do the stuff on their systems and the first you know is that they have changed the minimum payment to your CCCS payment. CCCS also deal with a load of DMPs (and its probably growing by leaps and bounds) so are in regular contact with most creditors. They will resend stuff if you ask, but they probably know its just the slow internal systems at the banks that is causing the holdups. They have resent stuff for me when asked without any bother and sympathised etc. The other thing I think is that you can't leave everything to CCCS, its your debt and you have to be a bit proactive in getting it sorted. I have contacted them when asked and in particular, BoS only agree for a short time, you have to keep phoning to get the acceptance renewed, a pain I know, but not something that CCCS can deal with, its got to be You. I know they can be really aggravating and thick but most will settle down if you keep them informed, its got to be worth a go to get it sorted. If you feel talking to them on the phone is cross productive (and it can be), write to them and keep copies, so that you can show a court (worst case scenario, don't panic) that you have taken effective steps to sort the debt out. I have spoken to most of ours and apart from Amex they have all been pretty polite and minimally helpful, lloyds were very polite but really unhelpful. I've reported Amex to the FOS for unfair behaviour, no messing about, there are rules but they will flout them if the get away with it. Not trying to tell you how to go about this but CCCS /Payplan/CAB do a great job but sometimes they need a bit of help from us. and for all of you at the beginning, it will get better, there are loads of peeps who come back on and say its the best thing they've ever done, its definitely the best thing we've ever done, only wish we'd done it ten years ago, but heigh ho you live and learn...........More than Two Years in

Hi nitty
If you go to their website, and fill in the Debt Remedy, it will come up with your options, its a good starting point and you can take it from there. Good luckMore than Two Years in

Nothing to lose so try running the Pay Plan one as well and then choose the one that suits your needs. Both are free, so stay away from sites that offer the service for a fee. Tip, although you might think it is a good idea to answer questions about how much you need for shopping, petrol etc per week in the lower range, go for a realistic amount. Luckily for me the nice lady at Pay Plan suggested things I had not even thought about, so I have a little more than I would have allowed myself and boy!!! do you find you need it. Hair cuts, prescriptions, glasses, travel all have a small allowance that I can save per month, or use for another emergency that will crop up. Welcome aboard the trip none of us wanted. Together we are getting through.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

Guys
I hope I have not given the impression that CCCS are useless they are anything but. They have helped me immensely through what at times has been a very difficult, frightening and stressful situation. I guess what I am trying to say is I assumed that they would work 1 to 1 with my creditors and keep me informed of the progress they make with each creditor. I got the wrong impression I am very grateful for the work they have done for me to date and I would recommend them to anyone.
Every time I have rang they have put me at ease and one thing I know for certain is that when I have spoken to my creditors and mentioned CCCS they have all said that they have worked with them in the past and I m sure they carry weight when negotiating on our behalf.
So anyone thinking of embarking on a DMP contact CCCS it will be the best move you make.
Keep up the good work CCCS. It my debt so I have to deal with it and work in partnership with CCCS and my Creditors.

Morning All
Sun shining again, but big black clody think lurking in the Irish sea coming this way. Nothing more to report, always find that Tuesday is a "mail day" so who knows what goodies will pop through the door?

Pay day tomorrow, its been a very very very long month.
I certainly concur with that, my emergency fund has dropped from £400 to less than £100 in one month, a mixture of loads of birthdays, car tax, etc.
Been selling like mad on Ebay, but has been a difficult month financially and the penny has dropped about how much I relied on credit for years and years. PPLBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.
Paddle No. 5.
Debt at DMP start (May 1st '10) £54.9k, as of 1st Oct '11 £33.2k. 40% cleared.
(3 F & Fs down, 5 to go!) :T0 -

But doesn't it feel good when you reach pay day and realise you can do it?0
