  • OK peeps

the good news is that CCCS are not daft!!! prorata is done on the first balances, so if the prorata figure is say 2% of your payment, it stays at 2% of your payment, no matter how much interest they pile on. So they DO NOT BENEFIT from piling on interest by getting higher payments. I have to have a telephone appointment to go thoroughly through stuff so it in the future, hence the letter to get it set up. Girl was lovely and very understanding, so New nothing to worry about.!!!

thanks ted for worrying with me!

Have the luxury of time to post twice in one day!

Very good news indeed Pure and thanks for sharing that. Hoorah, there is some justice in DMP land. From what I hear I think the reviews are done to make sure the budget is set at the right level and to satisfy the preditors.

New Beg, CCCS tell me it gets better with the preds, them becoming more accepting after a few payments have been made and a substantial proportion of them responding postively to even just the first payment.

Did anyone hear George Osborne saying just like at home we have to face up and deal with debts? I wonder if he will get behind DMPs?

I'm off to watch the footy shortly, a break from DMP land. Getting giddy not least because even if we loose I have only 2 more sleeps that I can post my overall debt reduced by 2.4% when the 25th June arrives!

    Enjoy the afternoon everyone.

    Thanks everyone.

Good to hear that's how CCCS work it, I assume it works the other way too - I have a loan with Halifax, just had around £2000 knocked off for PPI mis-selling so their payment will stay the same as well?

A quick Good Morning, where is everyone? Hope you're all ok and your not being on here so much is because you're finally being able to get on with your lives ..... :j

Teds 'Highlight of the Week' -I asked in Aldi (how sad am I?) why they didn't have baskets......it's because you can't do the Aldi whizz off the conveyor belt and into the trolley quite as well when you have a basket! Can you imagine, it'd all end up on the floor.. so there is a method in the Aldi madness! Plus Wackos are 20p off per packet, get down there!

    Busy day so gotta go,

    Have a good one!

    ps Yay!! :footie:

Morning Ted, I've been lurking most of the week so give me a prod if no one is around. School finishes next Wed so we're winding down homeschool, although we do keep up a summer scrapbook so no one forgets how to "do school":rotfl:

I've had no highlights like yours this week, just a crazy day out with a family who could be doing with a visit from supernanny:eek:

    Hello all

ted I am loving the aldi whizz! We have lidl by us but I find morrisons is cheaper.

I had a letter from santander this morning saying they are aware I'm in a dmp, here's a default, and keep paying your offer. It doesn't say they accept but I'm guessing that's what it means?
They had passed me on to westcott but I Havent heard from
them for a bit. I'm feeling a bit down at the moment and things are getting on top of me so I'm trying to ignore it all for a few days and then hopefully I'll be able to spring back with my usual enthusiasm.

Afternoon all, sorry havnt been around in a while things have been a bit hectic here, school finishes on wednesday so theres been alot of end of term things happening, we're off tonight to an end of year beach party!!!

Managed to get caught up on all the posts, sorry to hear of your problems regret hope you get the registration back up and running so you can keep earning.

Got a lovely letter yesterday from my old bank visa saying they acknowledge my situation and that cccs will require some information and listed all the details that would be needed so yea to the Ulster Bank it is the first bit of positive news I have really had and first letter with no demanding of money and threats.

Also got my barclaycard statement and was so pleased to see no interest as promised while waiting for my dmp to start.

So after 2 nice bits of news got a really nasty letter from mbna saying despite previous reminders we have chose to ignore there requests for payment and they have withdrew our credit line and have informed the credit reference agencies:mad::mad::mad::mad:It really makes me so cross, no I have not ignored you you have had 3 letters telling you of the situation and you have had 3 token payments and we have spoke to you at least twice I do not call that ignoring them and certinaly does not deserve such a nasty letter........were do these companies get off I mean here we all are trying our very best to sort the situation out and that is the kind of response we get, it really was a very nasty letter and quite honestly is total lies as they have not been ignored. aghhhhhhhh:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Sorry rant over, nothing much else happening just plodding along really trying to keep to the budget for when the dmp is running but so far havnt managed to as there is alway something to pay out, a bit scary as if Im struggling now how will I do it when i have my dmp to pay too:(

    Hi

Another phone call from Santander Loans asking for money and saying my credit rating will be dead if I don't pay NOW.

    It went like this..........

Them "Hello Mr E2 youve missed a payment on your loan and cancelled your DD, you are in arrears please pay today"

me "I'm with CCCS like I told you last week. "

Them "We haven't heard from CCCS"

me "They have sent the info 3 times now."

    Them "Whats your reference?"

Me "I told you twice last week"

Them "We have no record of any phonecalls to you."

    me "You are joking right?"

    Them "No Mr Eyeopener"

me "What sort of tinpot organisation are you?"

Them "Theres no need to be like that..."

Me "es theres every need to be like that, ive informed you at every turn what is going on, ive spoken to you twice last week and again about 6 weeks ago and you say you have no record of any phonecalls? Ive written to you twice."

Them "We will wait for CCCS to contact us but we will continue to send you letters and your credit rating will be damaged."

Me "My credt rating is damaged i'm on a DMP and all my other creditors are helping Including the credit card arm of Santander!"

    Them "Please keep us informed"

    Me "I will"

    Them "Goodby mr E"

    "Goodbye."

Hi, thanks for the welcomes. I have been ignoring calls from creditors for a while (bad I know!) but have recently been trying to explain the situation. Phoned stigma bank as I got a letter saying they were 'sending a representative round' aaahhhggg! They said 'we don't speak to debt management companies'. Huh? I know it's my responsibility to pay etc but what can I say to them? Have not had anyone accept the dmp or stop charges as yet.... Eyeopener2 you made me smile, as that's what they said to me, 'you're credit rating will be damaged..' least of my worries right now, went down the pan a while ago! Anyway hope no-one has melted in the heat today (or rained out in the north!) and every1 is looking forward to the weekend! ;)
  • Morning Folks and a very happy DMP day. :bdaycake:

Congratulations to those who are seeing their first CCCS payment go off the balance today - including me! That's 2.4% of my debt, yippee, going in the right direction and long may it last. Only another 40 months to go! Have 5 Preditors on board and have my fingers very tightly crossed for the other 7. Huge thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement, especially for the time leading upto the DMP application. I don't think DMP is an easy way out (for the sceptics), I had no other viable option, I was turned down for consolidation loan and am determined to pay my debt back responsibly. For anyone considering a DMP I can tell you the sense of relief right from the day I filled in the application is a huge sense of relief and nothing like that dreadful panic I had lived with for a couple of years since a relatonship break up. As the song says, I will survive! Just need a catchy tune to go with the DMP mantra, they can't have what you haven't got. Anyway, thanks everyone and here's to the future. Never mind the future being orange, here's to less red and more black!

Pure - I hope work is less crazy and you are ready for your review.

E2 - keep your cool with Santander. It's amazing that these people can't speak unless it follows a flow chart!

Andy - Sorry to hear of your MBNA woes. They dropped my interest to 8.9% so they will do it. Hopefully they will get onboard soon when they run out of steam.

LJM, last full week of schooling for a while!

New - Good news on Hellifax reduction.

Teds - Glad we could bring some joy.

R12 - Good to see you posting. My advice is speak to them when you feel strong, it's very empowering! When you don't feel so strong don't, self preservation is the key, as it being gentle on yourself. We will get there.

    Dodgy hugs to everyone else.:grouphug:

    Evening

Does anyone know when CCCS update your balances? Mines not showing any payments yet. I've paid my first instalment (for want of a better word) and I thought today would show how much has been paid to each creditor.

    Anybody know anything?
