    Mikon, you're so organised!

I think I have one from Cap1 and maybe another one or two but they are all in a plastic bag stuffed in the back of a cupboard and wrapped in a dressing gown:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm not that organised ask my OH. However I do not think I would have got through the low points without the support of you and other people on this forum so I just want to add something that will help newcomers.

At least your Default Notices are nice and cosy in a cupboard, I do not think I will go as far as getting them a dressing gown though cannot afford it. But thanks for the contributions.

    Regards

  • To be honest I am just assuming that I will be defaulted on all 8 debts, can't remember who has and who hasn't. If it means I can't get credit for 6 years then great, don't want any thank you very much.

I have had the same problem with Argos they accepted my DMP payment of £8 per month but then sent a Default Notice requesting £30 to clear the outstanding debt similar wording to yours. I rang them and was informed just ignore the Default Notice it is computer generated and we are legally required to send you it. My account is marked as DMP. The Default Notice will be registered with credit rating companies and prevent me from getting credit for 6yrs but who wants credit.

Try not to worry it is part of the process. Most companies who refuse the DMP offer will refer to DCA who will stop charges and freeze interest so it is to your advantage for it to go to DCA as for court they would not go down this route as the court would rule that you have made an offer and they would also have to produce as evidence the original Credit Agreement which may be unenforceable.

Remember they cannot have what you have not got and you are addressing your debt and being fair to all your creditors. Please try not to worry I know its easier said than done but I am speaking from experience and I can tell you it will get easier and you will learn how to play the game.

Try and have a good evening.

    Regards

Thanks Mikon for your help! I'll phone HSBC tomorrow and see what they say then if anything out of the ordinary occurs i'll phone payplan. I'll post the outcome here.
Also your idea of making a list of who has got defaults on here is a good one.
Your reply has picked me up!
    Cheers!

Defaults wise I think i've nearly got the full set, most of them came before the DMP though. All the credit cards have defaulted and two of the payday loans. My biggest creditors (loans) that I managed to keep paying till DMP have not defaulted me and the letters say they will not as long as I pay the agreed amount.

I really am expecting to be taken to court by one or more of this bunch. I think I know who as well but we shall wait and see what happens. Nothing surprises me in DMP land anymore after the Santander nonesense.
