Good Afternoon everyone, hope everyone if o.k. just a quick update, I have received my first statement from one of my Barclaycard accounts since the beginning of my DMP and they have stopped interest even though they haven't informed me of this, there is no interest on my statement, is this what usually happens thanks for any info
Barclaycard di this to me too, We've 3  accounts with them and they did this with 2, but ignored me with the other one and continued with charges/interest/threats, but they've gone quiet now.0 -
Hi All
been running around like a loonie then I too visited the Aldi people, still got the trolley wrong, I just give up. Forgot about the no baskets rule and spent ages looking for one, but did secure the wacko supplies and a big bag of haggis fritters!!!
Hope you are all OK, yup Barclaycard just amended all three of our accounts to the CCCS figure and stopped all interest and charges, never even phoned, sent a pidgeon, semaphored, nothing, nada!!! Long may it continue!More than Two Years in

Wonder how Barclaycard decide about stopping interest? I never heard from them either, they have accepted, take £157 a month from Pay Plan but still charge £52 interest, thus 6% instead of 20%+ a month so only £105 a month is coming off the debt. I did mention this to PP but they didn't give me any hints as to getting the interest stopped. Did you guys, that have had it stopped write yourselves to them or leave it to CCCS and Pay Plan etc?Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hi Gibbs
Our result came about entirely from the initial stuff sent out by CCCS. So actually we didn't need to do anything other than make the payment to CCCS. No phonecalls either!
Got to be worth a letter asking them to stop, is the payment near the original? I think this sometimes makes them keep adding interest, especially if you are not far off.
Good luck

Hi everyone
Just to add my bit about Barclaycard. I have not heard a thing from them I have just been waiting for a letter but nothing. First payment made but no statement so it will be interesting to see what happens. I just hope they stop charges and interest they did put my account on hold until they received the DMP from CCCS.

Great news Anna.
I got my Barclaycard statement today and there was nothing on it either, even the credit limit bit was blank. My balance had gone up but i'm beggining to think that was my error in the first place, I may have mis read it.
Good news though.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Latest update:
I have just received my credit card statement from HSBC and despite my letter requesting they stop interest they are still charging interest on the account. This is starting to mount up as arrears. My original balance was £6,000.00 and is now £6,270.00 and they are asking a minimum payment of £525.00 which obviously I cannot pay.
I have received several phone calls from them in the past week and despite them saying they know of the situation regarding myself being on a DMP with PayPlan and that the calls would now stop, they still keep persisting with phone calls and I have to explain to them all over again.
I am concerned about this as this debt is mounting up each month as they state they will only accept a minimum of £61 for this account instead of the £43 I am already paying.
Anyone had this kind of situation happen to them?Paddle number 22

Hi Jeddy
Think you have to go back to Payplan, only consolation is that they may pass on to a DCA sooner rather than later and then they will accept your payment and stop interest. There are letters on here to send and if you feel up to it, no harm in phoning, calm, assertive and informed is the way to go.
Good luck

Cheers PDD!
I just emailed PayPlan and will give them a ring on monday.
HSBC phonecalls are a nightmare. When I talked to staff in the UK they said all calls would stop as they put on my file that payments from PayPlan clear on the 17th of each month. However, our foreign 'friends' insist I pay up and they even asked that i borrow off family to pay the arrears. But it's like talking to a brick wall with these guys!
The UK staff also suggested that I make one payment to all 3 accounts ie; combine the 3 debts as one and make one payment. I asked payplan about this and they said it was fine as long as it wasn't written as a 'loan'.
If they transfer to their in house DCA then fab! :TPaddle number 22
