    Nataz well done.

Whilst we are on the subject of cars my insurance runs out in July by which time i probably will have default notices on my credit file. If i buy my insurance on line and pay monthly will my credit file be checked by the insurance company or not? I would have thought that if they do not receive the monthly payment via Direct Debit then they will stop the insurance does anyone have any experience of this the same applies to my house insurance.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hiya bud,

I've just renewed both of mine (car and house) with defaults on my file and it doesn't seem to have made any difference - pretty sure they didn't check and I pay by direct debit for car and in full for house. I went through confused.com (or similar can't remember) so don't know whether that makes a difference?

Woah Nelly...I've just read through 10 pages, you are a busy bunch aren't you!

Nat - BRAVO on the driving test, so, so please for you!!! :j:j:j :T:T:T

LJM - OUCH! Hope the back is feeling better, sending virtual hug and some deep heat :D

True - Your new puppy is SO gorgeous, I'm very jealous! :p

Welcome to all the newbies

Nothing to report hear, god I'm boring.

HOWEVER, I started running back in January (when there was snow on the ground!) because I wanted to get fit and refused to pay gym fees I couldn't afford.

Now, bearing in mind I have NEVER been a runner and NEVER thought I could be (I moan walking to the car! :rotfl:). Started following a 'Couch to 5k' plan to work on time running as opposed to distance. Began with running for 1 minute / walk 1 minute (for 30 mins)...which nearly killed me and now (4 months later) I'm up to 8 minutes running non-stop!! Now, I realise this doesn't sound very impressive but it's a massive achievement for me and I'm really rather proud of myself!! :j Next stop (hopefully tonight) 20 minutes running non-stop, wish me luck!

Signed up to run the Race for Life 5k in Hyde Park in July, so I'm going to keep on going!! I'm actually really starting to enjoy it!! :j

    Happy Hump-Day :)

    Hi,

I am due to start a DMP with the CCCS but haven't yet sent off all the paperwork to either my creditors or to the CCCS.

The reasons for this are as follows:

    1) one of the companies I owe money to(American Express) had originally passed my debt on to a debt collection agency, but they have told me they no longer deal with my account. Who should I send my DMP letter too? American Express directly?

    2) When filling in my debt remedy on the CCCS site, I originally entered an income of £1290 after tax because that's what I'd calculated my salary would be following a payrise that was confirmed to me just prior to my filling out the debt remedy. However, my net income after the payrise is actually £1270 now, probably due to some change in my taxcode.

    3) having moved house in February, I only recently got round to informing my employer of my new address and last month's payslip(I get paid on the 20th of each month) was sent to my old address, I asked the current tenants if they had it and they said it probably got thrown away when they couldn't find it. I do have a payslip from december last year but that shows my old salary. Should I send that to the CCCS along with the other documentation required for my DMP?

    4) Finally. when sending letters to my creditors informing them of my DMP and including my token payments of £1, I've heard that I should not sign them with my usual signature but on the template letter from the CCCS, it says that I should use my usual signature. which should I use then?

    thanks,

    Paul.

cheers Ted, I'll ask if I can have a copy of my payslip or ask the CCCS if they'll accept my last bank statement.

with regards to American Express, I'll give them a call, hopefully they won't then start hassling me.

It's all been blissfully quiet on the phonecalls and emails front since I informed my creditors that the reason they didn't get their direct debits was because of my DMP, but it's time to get my skates on now.

I allowed myself a bit of a 'holiday' last week and lived life like it would be if I wasn't in debt. It was nice and gave me something to look forward to when my DMP is finished.

    Time to get started.

Well done Vic, I'd love to be able to run but I'm so self conscious!! Make sure you come back online after your 20 minutes later and let us know you're still alive :D

Sounds like you're doing really well Paulo!! Re: your point 4 - you mustn't sign anything that the creditors see with your "usual" signature, always sign digitally so they can't scan your signature and use it on things you wouldn't want signed IYSWIM!!

Have a good day at work Teddy - I've just done the first part of my shift, am back again at 4 though :( had about enough of working in the chip shop now, think I'll stick it out until after the summer holidays and then start looking for a better job, don't think I can hack it much longer than that! I'm dying to use my brain again!!

  • Hello lovely people

Sorry I have been awol. Will catch up with you call at the weekend if not before

Hugs for Mama and LJM. Congratulations for Nat, woo hoo

I just wanted to update you before I lost the information...... I've been getting nusiance texts to my landline. Will not let me hangup until heard it all or it rings back or leaves on my voicemail. Company called Philips, don't know what debt it's attached to so I can't take it up with the originator. CCCS were not too helpful on this occasion. Googled it and turns out to be a nightmare so decided to leave alone. Texts still keep coming though. Called BT. You can opt out of them with 20 minutes notice. so to get to the point. If anyone else wants the number its 0800 587 5252. You can opt out all together or specify times.

    Hope that helps

Ha Ha! Thanks True, hopefully I won't collapse half way round! You should give it a go, I was bit worried at first that I'd see people I know and be embarrassed that I was run SO slow....but then I thought, stuff 'em! :D

Plus you feel brilliant after (if a bit knackered!) it's really worth it! :j
