Mikon - I know they shouldn't but I wouldn't risk it. When I moved away from HSBC, I moved DS's money too because I didn't want to risk it. I think Ted had a similar issue in the early days so might have more info...seem to remember it depends on the age of the children and whether the account is in your name for them or in their names in their own right IYSWIM?

Northern Rock have my mortgage they cannot touch or do anything with that. Loan I have with them is unsecured so it will not effect my mortgage will it. I hope they don't touch the kids money.

they can't do anything to the mortgage but they can take the children's money, its called right of offset and as long as your name is on the accounts they are fair game. I would move them smartish, think how awful you would feel if they snaffled the children's money.

I was going to send you a hug too but I don't think you need one, might not be a bad thing if you got angry at the banks, and don't expect them to funtion on the same level of decency as you do.............

I will go down to the bank tomorrow and withdraw it. hope they have not done anything with the account only sent the letter to them on Thursday of last week making the £1 token gesture.

I would not care but they seem to do quite well whne I start on my DMP for example i pay £84 per month now but under the DMP that will only go down to £54.00 whereas Barclays will see their payments reduce from £303 to £108.

gosh, loads of catching up to do!

    Anyway.....

My free day out at the National Trust family fun day did NOT go to plan.....

We arrived before the bouncy castle and that were set up so went for a walk by the lough to see the old castle. Somehow, while playing with my 6yr old son, we got tangled up and were headed for a pile of nettles, then I heard the CRACK.....

I fell in a heap, much to my family's amusement until they realised all was not well....

Long story short, I fainted and passers by had to get someone from reception to drive down and pick us up and call an ambulance. The A&E was miles away and I had a whole can of gas and air and pain relief injection on the way. Surprisingly, the bone hadn't broken but I've torn ligaments very badly....:(

And I thought my back was sore last week?

LJM ligaments are not good and you've got loads around your ankle, so no heroics, lie on the sofa and don't do anything. Sudocream for the nettlestings and rest and hot and cold for the ankle, plus take the brufon and the painkillers.
