if you really want a tattoo then fine - i havent read the whole thread so dont know if anyone else has told you this - fingers are among the most sensitive parts of the human body and will be very painful to have a tatt on. (have a think why most 'hard men' have love or hate tattooed on their fingers - it tells other men they can take pain!
hand are also highly visible - people notice hands! so if you regret having the tattoo then there is no covering it up unless you are prepared to wear gloves and if you have to have bare hands, and i can think of a good few occasions when you cant wear jewellery, then you cannot hide the tattoo.
even though inks have got better over the years - my tattoo ( a pink, lilac and purple butterfly (i wont say where) went all blue after only a couple of years).
if after consideration - you still want to - then go to a reputable tattooist - usually one who is booked up for weeks and make sure he or she uses a new needle and destroys the needle and inks used on you in front of you at the end of the session.
oh - and i really hope you enjoy the results as much as i enjoyed the butterfly before it went all-blue!
  • My ex fiance had my name on his arm years ago (without my knowledge, I might add). We split up four years ago and he still has the tattoo. Saying that, I also have a tattoo (not a visible one) and I haven't ruled out getting another one. I might get OH to pick one out for me.

I think its a fantastic idea. THings change and different things happen there is no guarntees in life and lets hope if u do ever split up it would be a reminder of a good period of life full of love for you other half and the fun and mempries you had together (i no its not always possible, but it would be nice to think you could remain friends, if anything did ever happen)

Right now u r of the mind set that you should be together forever and i would not expect anything else when u go into marriage. I think you should consider getting a henna lasting approx 4 weeks of ur chosen design and then if you think it is something u both like and want get it done permanently.

I really like the idea of it, i think its sweet and romantic and is something that can never be removed, so stops the whole taking rings off in certain situations.

PS make sure the tattoo fits under the wedding ring i think it may look dirty if you have a beautiful ring and engagement ring on and the edge of a tattoo sticking out.

Also the fact ur OH wants the tattoos shows how committed he is to u...super sweet!

Enjoy ur big day and do what is right for u 2!

A guy at my work has a tiny heart on his ring finger as his wedding ring. it looks good. I wouldn't personally, but the gesture is lovely.
