dont take this the wrong way am sure that you have looked at these before but can you look at outgoings, changing gas/electricity supplier, car insurance, mobile provider, if wages have dropped drastically tax credits, council tax rebate, an hours ebaying at night?
if you need to let vent just shout and shout loud on here, we'll help as much as we can
Hi,
I have been looking at reducing outgoings at a stupid pace....
Tax credits are on my chase list for tomorrow, however being self employed they are loving hating me and making me go back to when I made more profit and hence was not in need of them :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Im looking at changing gas/electric in june when my 12 month contract is up, car insurance is a pain as my wife has had claims in the past meaning we pay £60 a month inc business use (on a crappy £300 car!), phone we are tied in till october on the one line we can get rid off easily, and november on my line which is used predominantly for business.
im sure things will look rosy - the annoying thing is he is about 1 month away from hitting page one for the keywords we are targetting based upon the work I have completed - and his takings should increase£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

NLID I remember reading this somewhere "arguing with reality is the most stressful thing anyone can do" we might wish things were different or believe they should be or that people should act differently but then we get stuck. the only thing we can deal with and move forward with is the reality as it actually is today.
I would also say make sure you hold your family tight. I know you are working hard specifically for them but make sure you still have and maintain a relationship. If you do they will be with you even if it all goes t**s up and families with strong relationships can survive the worst of things if they have each other. better to go bankrupt and still have your family than to work so hard that you don't have time for them and lose them.
I'm not saying that this will happen at all just saying don't push yourself so hard that you miss out on everything else. I know friends who have gone through the carp that your client is going through and its been tough but they are now out the otherside and life looks good again and their families are closer for it but they did have to make sure they made time for their family even whilst trying to save their livelihood. some saved their livelihoods others didn't but they did keep their families together.
You and your OH sound like you are close can you talk about what your limits are and worst case scenarios. once you have a plan for how you as a family could survive that and know you can be ok it might be easier to approach what needs to be done.

Thanks Jo,
Me and my OH are extremely close, discussing everything and are a single unit when facing the world (Believe it or not we discussed for over 3 weeks before signing up on here), however the one thing she is not very good with is figures and so has left working out all of our finances to me.
My DS and OH are my priority, and I always make sure despite all of the hours I work that I am part of his routine, and he sees me interacting with him only at least 30-45 minutes a day with him being the only thing I will do for that time - usually he falls asleep and I carry on with work. Me and OH spend as much time as Thomas allows us together.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Ooo that's fab Skint! Newbigging too, many of my ancestors hail from there, and Daddykins was born in Monikie! I have a 'thing' about old church conversions, they kind of talk to me ... and I'm as heathen as they come! :rotfl: Keep dreaming Skint, you just never know what might come of it hun!
Sounds like you have an interesting family tree Joey! It's one of my addictions and I haven't had much time for it of late, but met up with distant cousins at the weekend and it's rejogged my memory on a couple of things I wanted to follow up... if only there were more hours in a day!
NLID I have absolutely nothing constructive to add, just wanted to say keep your chin up, no darkness is absolute.
Well I've been up for ages, got a call at the crack of morning to say the work alarm had gone off, so I threw on clothes and headed over there. Not much point in going back to bed, was there? Ha, I'll not be saying that tonight when I'm wilting!
Have a great day everyone!

morning toots, (always think of my great nephew who's 15 months when i write toots - we call him tootie am sure he thinks thats his name!) up early too have to get things ready for the PO and have docs again at 8.30.
Beautiful up at Monikie only thing is they dont let you take dogs round the reservoir there even on leads anymore so seldom go there, tend to go to Crombie as mad spaniel has a ball. weather not so good here today, so may actually get my ares in gear and get more things listed on ebay to make up for the money i spent last night.
NLID, Can you get a day work at the polling station, i know its only a dday or so but its always a weeks shopping you dont have to worry about and gives you more time to find a way of replacing lost business, just a thought
catch up laterskintbint x
