Thank you for your excellent advice. To be honest i certainly do not wish to come over as aggressive, but thank you for pointing out i am . Not trying to justify but I’m pretty emotionally charged with this issue. The sleep pattern is all over the place and cannot think of anything else but losing my home. If that happens at 55 yrears old it would have a devastating effect.
I am thinking i should move out of here temporarily to cover my back until the NoSP is sorted. Do u know if there are any legalities to their advantage if i did?
I have tried the Private swap route twice in the last 12 months without success. There is a bidding system in operation with relocating via the Council that people tend to use rather than seek Private arrangements. with other council tenants. .
You certainly do not come over as aggressive to me.
Is it not worth putting a few cards in newsagent's windows offering a council swop to a place in the part of town that you would like?
I would not move out! You will then have lost a council tenancy and it will be difficult to regain this."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

No - you should not move out. As a secure tenant you have agreed to occupy as you main or principal home. If you were to move out, given the relationship with the council, they may regard this as you not meeting this obligation. Whilst this would not end the tenancy, the council may argue it is no longer a secure tenancy.
The letter from the council regarding your banding is worrying. It sounds like the Housing Options Officer and the Housing Officer have just sat down, had a chat and decided to remove priority. I would be tempted to write to them to ask them what evidence have they considered when deciding to remove this priority, and that the timescale for the review should only start after they provide this information.0 -

An excellent idea Squinty. And perhaps after "the review should only start after they provide the information" follow on with "and I have have been given an opportunity to consider this fresh detail and send you my reply for your further consideration"."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Just sighed in to post a reply to the letter and saw your replies.
Iv'e put this together but think i should re-write due to the the points raised in the last cpl of posts. ? I'm not really that confident in writing official letters so any ide'as would be most helpful.
Thanks Guys.

Kevin - it's easy to get paranoid in this type of situation. Try not to, though - it's very possible that the council's just making honest, stupid mistakes rather than pursuing any kind of vendetta. In a way, this doesn't matter - the way you respond wouldn't differ much one way or the other. It's not unheard of for councils to mess up repeatedly, though, even without malice :rotfl:
I would rewrite your reply to the council's latest letter - be more specific re what you want.
One more thing you could do is make a subject access request under the Data Protection Act. It will cost you a tenner - but you can ask the council for a copy of all info they hold on you (with a few exceptions). The council should have a member of staff who deals with these requests.0 -

Thank you for your advice and understanding of this situation. Yes, i will rewrite the letter centred around the suggestions advised earlier. Again..Thank you all for your advice, understanding and support - I’d find it pretty tough going without your collective calmness, knowledge and sound advice Your tax bill is the penalty you pay for not helping the right candidates get into office.:D0 -

Does anyone think it would be a good ide'a, or not, to remind them of this by adding a refernce to it in the letter? Or would it be insignificant?Your tax bill is the penalty you pay for not helping the right candidates get into office.:D0 -
I think that be your primary reason, not your preliminary reason.0
