Try the "is this quote fair" board ;) But yes, it does to me - we had our whole bungalow rewired for £1800. Mind you, your kitchen is probably the size of our bungalow - most people's seem to be :D
the room is pretty big, 5m x 3.2m but we aren't having a huge amount of cabinetry.

It wouldn't affect the cost of the electrics even if you were though, much. There are the under-cabinet strip lights to consider I suppose.

What does the £800 actually cover ?

ok it's a new ring main with 13 amp cable for cooker, fuses and sockets for 4 appliances + 3 double plug sockets plus all cabling.

We are chasing out the walls and supplying the 3 double plug sockets.

I totally think £800 is a bit 'risi e bisi'

But tell him it's not half as 'risi' as the £4600 we were quoted for the kitchen today-supply only!!!!!!!!!

    :rotfl:

Ps !!!!!! no lighting in the quote at all :(

As Allegra said, go onto 'Is This Quote a Joke' or whatever it calls itself. And get yourself a couple more quotes, that one sounds OTT to me. I'd expect them to chase the walls out too, unless you really want to do it.

Thinks that is OTT would be embarrassed to even charge £500 esp since you are doing the work. The materials would cost approx £100 then there is his time but depends on how lavish you are being. The work should take about a day no longer all being well and says to try and get all receipts from guy but if he is a company he might not do it as they add on approx 20% for their time. HTH xx

    I just noticed this:
However a transition period will apply for the new RDAs until 31 October 2012.

    Dear CFR team mates :)

Firstly very sorry for not being as 'present' over the last week!

Project kitchen has been time consuming and fergie and kes have both had various medical things (nowt worrying just a bit time consuming)

Thought it might be good to do an update though so people don't think weezl/CFR have sunk into obscurity! :D

I like sian's idea of a chat topic, and it being recipes.

And one thing that it would be very useful to debate is whether this 'rainbow challenge' idea has some mileage for the site, and what recipes people might like to suggest for it.

(I can repost a summary of the rules if folk have forgotten?)

Kitty wise (oh that woman she is so irritating :)) The technical side of the production has had to go slightly slower cos of my dad's health, but collecting the data-wise Lesley and I are doing pretty well on that :).

do please ask if anyone would like any other updates :)
