Well done on having something special to celebrate!!

We were given the lamb so that saved a lot of money.

Squash soup, squash, onion and 1 clove garlic, tblsp vegetable oil. Cut squash in half, remove seeds, brush with 1/2 the oil and roast until softish. Saute onion and garlic, add squash water and seasoning. Simmer until sqash really soft then blitz with blender. Serve 1/2 with loaf of HM bread cut into chunks.

Roast lamb shoulder, HM Yorkshire puds, gravy, Spring cabbage, carrot and roast potatoes. Lamb shoulder is much cheaper than leg, I roasted it on a slightly lower temp for longer than I would do leg. Piled lots of cabbage on plates so they were all full

Fruit salad with blackcurrants from garden, some Aldi specials last week, one banana. Co-op whoopsy greek yoghurt.

Thanx so much for your reply, you are a star:A:A
    We now have ripe blackberries
in the garden, so that would save a few bob, I very much fancy the sound of that squash soup to impress my lot.
We are planning it for next week, so I will let you know how it goes,

    thanx again

Hello all...thought i'd pop on too...

well iv had a fabby weekend. I was picked up yesterday from work by I Mr arty and his mum, and was wisked to a gorgous country hotel. On arrival I found that we had a suite booked not just a room (for me and mr arty) so had a living room, tv, dvd player. A beautiful bedroom with another tv and views on 3 sides of lovely countryside. We were given a parcel with very expensive champagne and chocies too.

Before dinner Mr arty and I went swimming in the indoor and outdoor pool and in thw whirlpool and juccuzzi (had to make use of the facilities LOL) then had a yummy 4 course meal.

Today mr arty graduated which was lovely and his mum even bought me a present for supporting him so much. We then had a champagne buffet for lunch.

So all in all a brill weekend xxxxxxxxx

    that sounds utterly lovely arty

Oooh, sounds lovely Arty. Glad you had a fab time.

I'm totally immersed in the cycling at the moment. Off to Paris at the weekend to see the final stage on the Champs Elysees. Normal service will be resumed next week lol.

potty is there any chance you'd be willing to ring asda to find out where those RDAs come from?

I know you are busy with prepping the wedding favours though, so just say if that's tricky, and I'm sure someone will manfully (womanfully) rise to the occasion :)

I could deffo do it, but I see Susan has sent a query :D

I've just submitted a query to the ASDA nutrition team using their online form. They do say that they won't necessarily reply though.

I shall wait to see if they respond...
If not, I will give them a ring :)
    How does that sound ??
    :D

Ooh, this thread has really quietened down. We need some kind of discussion or crazy idea to talk about. Or a recipe, everyone loves a good recipe... :)

:( £800 to do the electrics for my new kitchen.

    Does that sound exorbitant?

    (utterly off topic-sorry!)

Try the "is this quote fair" board ;) But yes, it does to me - we had our whole bungalow rewired for £1800. Mind you, your kitchen is probably the size of our bungalow - most people's seem to be :D
