Weezl and friends Phase 2 -giving it a whirl for Shirl! Testing meal plan for a month

DD is playing a granny in the school play & cadged from her granny a pair of glasses on a cord, a huge ball of wool & a huge pair of knitting needles! When she is on stage she is supposed to be knitting, so today I taught her how! And she is enjoying it!
I agree with Allegra & Arty that am unwilling to volunteer if can’t be sure can deliver & to project manage CFR is a full time job! We know how much time Weezl puts in to it. I have two full time jobs already, the paid one & being Mum. So am reluctant to volunteer for what seems to be to be a third full time job! The housework already gets squeezed round the edges:o (loved the confessions thread on OS! Made me feel so much better).
Anyway, trying to think about how would be less daunting & encourage volunteers to help. On the testing page there are five gather & check pages, which could be allocated to five different people, for example I could take prep & cook times as have already done a lot of work on that already.
There are five further links on the testing page, so maybe five, different, people could volunteer to look at these, check for typos, see what needs to be done etc.
So instead of having one temporary project manager for CFR, which is daunting, have ten assistant project managers responsible for specific areas?0 -
Weezl, I spoke to my friend about the mummy blogs and promotion potential for CFR. She suggested you put a post on britishmummybloggers.co.uk talking about CFR. Enjoy your film night xSealed pot member 735

Hello all
I hope everyone is well
I have been busy busy busy, recently, so not around here so much.... but I am just catching up with the thread
More later about my busyness... but some things I have noticed so far...........
I blame Joel, Weezl. Ever since he turned up, we've all been thrown off-centre. P'raps we should have called him Ron
Aye..... Ron might have worked better... as you dont have to specify when, with Ron1) I got some reduced cream at the Coop. (To make into butter.)
A bit of a silly question... that I cant get my head round at this time of night... but can you make butter with single cream ?
I think it may have to be double creambut just wondered...
My local Tesco had the massive tubs of single cream reduced to 10p the other day.... I didn't buy any, as I thought it was double cream needed for butter.... I do hope I am right, as I didn't get anySian_the_Green wrote: »They taste pretty darned good and I think may be boy-impressing
I need to make me some of these
Pronto
I will be back in a sec, once I have fully caught up....
I have info on the calcuim in the SP kidney beans0 -
:rotfl: I didn't deliberately do it - it just happened automatically.
I do the memory dump thing too Susan;)
My brain has to make room for new stuff constantly
For me too, it is involuntary, and sometimes damn inconvenient, when I know I should know something, but cant remember (butter from cream springs to mind here *rolleyes*):DI'm classed as morbidly obese so by the sounds of it I am at the other end of the scale to you Susan. I have a different viewpoint to you about it I think... (And this is not critisism of you in any way)
I sometimes get really hacked off by magazines, tv and similar all saying thin is beautiful all the time. I've cetrainly not noticed any "big is beautiful" media stuff recently... if ever! I wish there was a bit more size related balance sometimes! From my viewpoint the media is obsessed by slimness and that if you are overweight or even a normal weight you are not slim enough... Open any magazine for example it will be filled by slim models/celebrities etc with sometimes scathing attacks if they have put on a few pounds! Most TV presenters are lower than the UK average too! Don't get me started on film stars...
I have strangers hurl abuse at me in the street/shops on a horribly regular basis simply because I am the size I am. Yesterday for example someone (who wasn't watching where they were going as they were texting walking along the street) bumped into me and started swearing "what did you do that for you f***ing lazy fat c***"! If I had a £ for everyone who has called me a fat cow (or much worse) to my face I'd be a millionaire several times over. In many situations my size means I somehow become completely invisible! At times I get completely ignored in shops, pubs etc or people act as if I am thick and lazy simply because of my size.
I am well aware that being my size is very unhealthy and I am trying to do something about it (lost 20 odd lbs since the start of May by healthy eating and exercise :j) but I really don't need as much negetivity about the way I look as I get sometimes. It is really unpleasant - I got here by years of an eating disorder, not by choice.
I hope I'm not speaking out of line, Susan, by saying this... just giving my perspective. I think there should be some middle ground... people come in a million and one sizes and shapes and all should be appreciated just the same. Sadly I'm not sure that will ever happen...Its the person inside that body that is important not what they look like...
I should have some time over the weekend to help with googling etc Weezl.
taka.... I do know where you are...
I used to be a size 26...
But am now an 18/20.....and hopefully still going
When I was in my 20's I was between a 14-16...
In my early thirties 16-18.. and later 30's 18+
My personal circumstances in my late 30's changed drastically, that I comfort ate, which increased my weight.
Also my financial circumstances changed at the same time, which meant I could not afford to smoke, so gained more weight
Dont get me wrong, I am utterly delighted that I no longer smoke, and I am your text book ex smoker, and really hate it..... but I wish, I had taken up swimming or jogging instead of eating rubbish when I gave up
I am a fairly happy person under normal circumstances..... but it is difficult to remain so, when some random, comments on your weight:mad:
Though, I have to say, I have accquired a bit of a sharp tongue, for the randomsour bodies are a thing that carries around our essential us-ness, our soul (or whathaveyou).
No point having a 'stunning' piece of wrapping paper around a useless present for christmas! Instead I feel we all work on having shiny souls
This is what I tell myself anyway
Cos When I'm 87 It'll be no matter to me I'm sure that my thighs meet in the middle or otherwise.
(won't be able to tell anyway, cos my boobs'll be in the way)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Brilliant
Still catching up0 -

Is this a survey that others could fill in, and list their favourite food blog site ?You have to try and do a "for dummies" version of that explanation, Weezlie - I think we are all very reluctant to volunteer for something if we are not sure we can deliver !
Ditto
And Ditto what Arty said about the same subject
And Ditto what Julimk said about the same subjet
I would love to help.... but like others, would need clarifications of expections, before hand...
My busyness further explained as previously annotated...
Some of you may know anyway...
My brother is getting married...
A couple of weeks to go now
I am making the favours :j:o:eek:
They will be half bottles of HM wine... so I have been quite involved in sorting all that out
My kitchen table currently has 70 half bottles of wine on it ...
I had hoped to make the labels myself, but I could not guarentee precision, or clarity, so have decided to get them made......
I pick up the labels on Monday, but the proofs are fantastic, so it was a good decision to have them done this way
I am itching to get the labels done on the bottles.. I also have some ribbon to fancy things up ...
I may post a pic or two when they are done
Ok.. one more post from me, before bed... next ....0 -
Quite a while back Weezl asked me to find out the calcium content in Smart Price Kidney beans....
Just a quick recap... for those that dont have smart price kidney beans in their cupboard....
Ingredients:-Red Kidney Beans : Water : Firming agent (calcium cholride)
These were the questions I asked....
1. How much calcium choride was in each tin ie what percentage and in grams?
2. If the calcium chloride is in the water, what absorbtion rate, if any, would be incorporated into the beans
This is the answer, I recieved via email from them...
Thank you for your call about the ASDA Smart Price kidney beans.
I have now found out that 0.237% calcium chloride is in the can. This works out to just under 1g in the can. It is added to the water which is then added to the beans.
I hope this information helps you. If you need anything else please get back in touch.
......................................
I dont feel this answered my questions.... as absorbtion rate does not appear to have been included....
However, "just under 1g" per tin seems like quite a negligable amount, and I am not sure if this could contribute to RDA's...... .... as per the tin, a third of the tin, is a portion ??? So, I am not sure if this information, will suffice...
If you need me to ask any more questions let me know, but I thought the first stage outcome should be posted first
(sorry its taken soooo long)
Anyway... my answer to Arty's a good thing that happened to me today, that I wasnt expecting queston... ....
I was able to pay a wee suprise visit to the biddies, and make them a wee coffee
They were in a good mood and happy for and good for the company...
Happy Days

Edit... I'm not so sure I will be able to catch up with the Skype chat0 -
I wonder if anyone knows any ways people have benefitted? That would be lovely to hear about.
Here's some stories for you.
1) Over the past few months of testing recipes etc i actually have money in my account. Shocking i know, its embarrassing to write that as seeing it in print makes it seem so final and real. This month especially with MOT etc using the recipes has saved us so money and guess what it will continue.
This is probably what you didn't want to hear so ignore if you wish.
2) The carrot cake is utterly amazing, its made at least once a week here. The porridge, so lush and don't get me started on the Croatian potato salad or the carbonara. so although right now i can't do much as i've been banned form standing cooking etc (i broke kneecap in half two weeks ago and its still not healed) were still having the more basic meals off the site. So its saved us from buying takeways etc.
3) A couple of friends have been hit they peak and showed them site and guess what they have even started making some of the recipes. Which i'm shocked at as one of them is a fussy little so and so. Oh and they little one adores the carrot cake. He's always asking for it now and its healthy!!
Mayonaise/chutney etc - hmm maybe they could be put under a different section e,g sauces/condiments?
That way its not too many recipes on one page.
Arty : i'll be watching it to, i really want holland to win but i can see spain closing them down. Just in the same way they did with germany.0 -

thanks juliette, That's really helpful clarification
I realise that must have sounded very daunting if it sounded like I expected the person to do what I'm doing.
The technical and web design aspect of that would not be possible to hand over, and I wouldn't want that.
I'll have another stab at explaining. Whilst I am doing something very detailed like writing code for new pages, it's hard to make my brain hover above the project and see who's doing what.
So it was the 'hovering above' I was asking for support with. But yes, not a time intensive thing hopefullyand yes definitely having several would be fine, great in fact!
