potty thank you for your calcium research :)

each can containing 1g of calcium chloride means that the can contains 361 mg of calcium (although someone will need to check this because Mr weezl's chemistry is a little rusty!)

so the 7 cans in shirl's planner could give them a whole days worth of the calcium they require.

Which is actually quite good news :)

    Ahhh... good :D
I was a wee bit worried that just under 1g wasn't enough :o But thats just me not knowing enough about how much the RDA is :o

Allegra... I am up for doing something... but not sure what... or if the tasks listed are something I could do...
Any other odd jobs/phoning that needs doing ? :D

Arty :A ta for the wine comment :o:D
The favours aren't strawberry, but Pinot Grigio...
I have to say... initial testings have shown this is bloddy lovely :D.
Quite a few friends have said, tis one of the best I have made :o:cool:
I do have another strawberry on the go just now.... but its not ready yet... and I have made it differently. If I remember, I will pop you a mini bottle in the post to sample for me ;)
  • I will be up and about at about 4pm your time on Monday. OH is away for the day so will have lots of time to play with recipes ( and the temps forecast to go down to 23) if anyone wants to post something for me.

I have wholemeal bread crumbs and potential breadcrumbs ( frozen lumps that were too stale for butties) in the freezer, if someone has a vague breadcrumb biscuit recipe wants trying or I can google one. Might have a go at the oat biscuits too, got some maple flavoured instant type oats that I am thinking might be nom with a strong cheese.

I was really shocked that I couldn't finish the batch cooking guide I had volunteered to do, I hadn't realised just how frazzled my brain had become. I am still keen to help where I can and should ( please cross your everythings) loose one of the major stressors by Wednesday so hopefully my capacity will come back a bit.

A bit of a silly question... that I cant get my head round at this time of night... but can you make butter with single cream ?
I think it may have to be double cream :o but just wondered...
My local Tesco had the massive tubs of single cream reduced to 10p the other day.... I didn't buy any, as I thought it was double cream needed for butter.... I do hope I am right, as I didn't get any :o
I have it in my head that it should be double cream too. I imagine single might work but maybe give a lower yield but that is just a guess. I did throw in half a pot of single with 1 1/2 pots of double and didn't notice any particular difference between that and the two pots of double that I did.
Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.

The government is apparently going to shut down the FSA. More reason than every to have a meal planner full of healthy snacks for families.

It won't be replaced. Some functions will transfer to DEFRA. The press are seeing it as a victory for the big junk food businesses. No regulation on junk food advertising now

    interesting stuff howlin :)

allegra another task for the CFR team is to have a read of the batch day article, alongside the thread on old-style and work out which mse user name said which quote, and them match that with their real life initials.

I'll find you the linkies if anyone would be able to do that, I estimate it's a roughly 1 hr job.

Okay guys, no pushing and shoving at the back - a nice and simple one here, just read an article, read the thread, match up the quote to the user. Like a jigsaw puzzle, only simpler :)

Potty, if Weezl mentions any phoning, first dibs to you - in the meantime, can you read a spreadsheet ? We really need someone to do the five-a-day calculation ? If not, no worries, I'll leave you something on here by tonight to have a go at :D
