:rotfl: It sort of spurred me on to up my walking pace too. A couple of years ago it would have completely devestated me and made it all the harder to leave the house. Now it just reminds me of how far I have come and that I am finally happy(ish) about being me! :j Hence the laughing & smiling!
Oh and very glad that I don't have such a rude *^%£ in my life! I pity his family/friends... :rotfl:

Taka I am outraged on your behalf, I think I would have been devastated so I am glad you could at laugh at the awful person.
Well I really respect, value and regard you all as good friends and I have only seen photos of a few of you. I dont think meeting you will change that so in essence it doesn't matter what we look like does it?

Go taka!! Good for you. Can’t believe some people are so rude!
Wow Weezl! I am really impressed that you and your Dad were able to put together the recipe index just today. It was only discussed yesterday evening. And it looks absolutely fabulous!!
Your Dad is a real hero with all the work he has done in the background, so do pass on my appreciation for his efforts. :T
DD’s prom dress is now complete. Mum volunteered to make it – she only retired this year & at the moment she is looking for little projects to keep her occupied. And she used to professionally make bespoke ball gowns & wedding dresses several years ago, has her own overlocker etc. So I knew she would do a fantastic job.
Mum is going to make a net petticoat so that the skirt is all sticky out & some fabric roses, which will be sewn to hair clips for DD’s hair.
Re task allocation, I don’t have any real plans for the weekend, though DD will be around. Will be working at home on Monday & Tuesday but full day in the office on Wednesday. So Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues bitesize bits of googling and/or detail work will be fine.0 -
Thank you to weezl's lovely dad for the tables he has made. The new layout is looking fabxxxxIn art as in love, instinct is enough

Hi mango Joe
thanks for the offer of help YAY!
re amino acids,
I'm sure twink and murrell would be able to give a much better response but here's what I know:
amino acids are required daily by the body and are a building block of proteins.
They are found in their complete form in animal sources (here I agree with your SIL!)
But many combinations of vegetable proteins can be combined easily in our bodies to produce the essential amino acids:
ie rice+peas = complete amino acid profile
pulses+wheat = complete amino acid profile
etc etc.
I will give you a few linkies when I've cleared a few big tasks
Hiah,
Just about sums it up. However they are not needed at the same meal as our bodies can store them until later to make up the complete amino combination. They used to think this was the case and it has been proven since to not be. However its still probably better to do that. There is some complete protein vegan foods, but not many, such as quinoa and tofu.

Sian, the bee that Joy uses on her blog with the little trail behind it is strikingly similar to the one in my business logo !!!! So much so, if I was a large corp I would probably be sueing! Am now left wondering if it's a coincidence or if my logo designer wasn't quite as original as she claimed to be :-SEat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

Batch recipe timings based on testers responses:
Bread, carrot loaf and calzone estimated timings:
10 min for flour warming/yeast activating
10 min for dough mixing and dividing, searching for tins, cursing because you forgot to grate carrot
5 min to grate the carrot
~*~ Here is where the calzone timeline diverges ~*~
BREAD TIMELINE:
40 min to prove the bread and the carrot loaves
25 min to bake the bread and the carrot loaves
CALZONE TIMELINE:
40 min first proving (incorporates 15-20 min sauce making)
5 min rolling out
15 min bechamel sauce making
5 min spreading the filling and trying to get the seams nice and neat and leak-proof
~*~ Here is where the two timelines converge again ~*~
Bread out, calzone in, 8-10 mins baking
Bread & doughnuts
So I would say - 10 mins prep, 40 mins proving, 25 mins cooking for the bread, 35 mins to cook the full batch of doughnuts if you have to cook them two at a time as I did
Bread & ginger loaf
15 mins prep (5 mins extra to allow for all the gingering and the like)
40 mins prove
25 mins bread bake
30-35 mins ginger loaf bake0 -

You can put me down for some proof reading and some recipe trials if you should need them.
BTW, I had a very interesting discussion with my youngest SIL at the weekend, (he knows everything!) and he has told me that it is not healthy to have a meat free diet as there are several amino acids that are essential for healthy life, and they are only available in meat. I asked him to name them and he suggested I did the research......cheeky g?t.
Anyway, maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but can't find anything to help either for or against,
anyone out there who can advise?
(I'd love to prove him wrong)
Me and DP were veggie for about 15 years and were fine. I understood it at the time that I needed to combine beans and grains to get the complete proteins.
The fact that veggie proteins are called 2nd class just refers to their lack of one protein (I think it's one) and if you want to have all of them in one go, you need to combine the beans and grains. Beans and grains each have one missing, but a diff one
you don't need the complete set every time0 -
