Hi too tired to think straight just now can anyone give me a suggestion for tea tonight. I have a cooked chicken to use and had roast chicken last night and did the chicken and onion pie and a pasta with chicken a few days ago. And also a curry on Sat Anything quick and simple would be appreciated.
    TIA xx

    Hi Weezel and all
I'm a long time lurker, occasional poster who has got behind with the thread! - I'm upto post 4200.
I was going to wait til I had caught up before I posted but I felt the need to explain my "shirleyness" to see if it helped. I haven't tested the whole planner and probably wont because there are things there none of my family would eat. I have been a bit for a Shirley all my married life - eating what we fancy, not bothering to look for cheaper alternatives. Our food bill each month is probably the same as our mortgage - we do not have any debts but often over spebd by a hundred pounds so spend the next month trying to catch up. Part of my problem is I don't budget properly, part is my children are too expensive and part there are too many days in the month!"

I dip in and out of the planner, choosing meals that are similar to ones I already do, or based around things we like. The pizza was my first try, and are regullars on the meal plan now. THe chicken pie was a big success, with a tin of sweetcorn thrown in, as 2 kids "don't like onions!" and the onion tart is a huge hit with my veggie daughter.

I think some Shirls will be stuck in their way like me, not wanting to rock the boat with Bob and the kids by changing too many things at once - but even one meal a week from the planner is making a difference to our shopping bill - and it is making me think more about the nutrition in the meals I normally cook.

When I had DD2 one year and one week after I had DD1, I already had DS who was just three, my major achievement was to get us all up, baby fed and changed the other 2 breakfasted and dressed and have DS at Playgroup no more than 15 mins late! You Weezl are producing a website that can and will change peoples lives, before, during and immediately after the birth of your second child - I think you are one amazing women!
